Jets assistant Anthony Lynn will interview with Browns

New York Jets assistant head coach Anthony Lynn will interview Tuesday to be the Cleveland Browns' offensive coordinator, a source confirmed.
The Browns have a vacancy because Kyle Shanahan resigned after one season amid reports of turmoil. Lynn's connection to the Browns is coach Mike Pettine, a former Jets defensive coordinator.
Lynn, who joined the Jets in 2009 when Rex Ryan arrived, has one year remaining on his contract, but the assistants were told upon Ryan's firing they were free to explore other opportunities while the team conducted its search for a head coach.
Lynn coached the running backs for the Jets, their most consistent position during the Ryan era. In fact, the Jets led the league in rushing from 2009 to 2014, amassing 13,156 yards in that span.
If Lynn doesn't land the Browns' job, he could reunite with Ryan at the Buffalo Bills. ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter first reported the interview.
