There is really no upside to this, but grasping at straws, it's very early in the pre-season, and hopefully AA will be ready for camp next season

Truth be told HYATT™ viewed Allen as a placeholder Safety. Good enough to start if a team didn't have better - but not much more upside other than that which comes with experience to any talented young player.
Liked him, but the Jets secondary is in a much better place in 2015, so not an irreplaceable loss.

Allen could have been useful this year covering bigger WR and TE's in nickel and dime packages. And he's a solid special teams guy. Big loss? No. But it does affect depth for the team.

Nice. Hopefully he makes a full recovery and returns next year. This is a contract year for him. Real tough break
