I feel like he's regressed. If he makes it's bc of his reputation I think. I dk much about how to rate lineman but there must be a few people performing better than him. I am very disappointed in the oline play this season.

Pro Football Focus has him as the highest ranked center in the NFL by a large margin. They have an article saying that he's back at his best after an off year last season. Football Outsiders has the Jets centers ranked number 5. I would say, based on those two analytic assessments, that he's playing at least in the top 1-5 of NFL centers.
The Oline is generally ranked in the top ten for run blocking and near last in pass blocking. It's been better since Aboushi began filling in for Winters who's on the IR. Colon is ok at best, and he's a penalty machine. Ferguson and Giacomini are hard to assess.

Agree with all of this.
Giacomni will most likely be back with the team next year. He was a JAG this year.
D-Brick was never a guy who overpowered his opponent. He relied on a very quick out side step to intercept speed rushers. i think he has lost a step.

Sheldon has been monstrous. its just hard as hell to see it since everyone around him is miserable, Wilkerson included.

Agree - Mo is a beast, especially on the run but I hope he doesn't deserve anything close to Watt. Watt is a game changer.

I can't say I can evaluate these guys myself. But again, PFF has Wilkerson ranked 2d -- a far distant second to JJ Watt -- and Sheldon 4th. I'm too tired and frustrated to watch the games again and to evaluate them. I'm guessing that both are excellent players. Will they win any awards? who really cares? the team sucks and that's what matters. They're not the problem. We need a franchise QB and two CBs at least. Our STs looks like it needs work too.

Mangold def the best C in the game by far.
Unfortunately Pro Bowl selections in most cases go to players on winning teams. In 2003 LT had 1645 yds on 313 carries,13 tds and 5.3 ypc. He had 100 catches and 4 td's plus he threw for a TD and didn't make the Pro bowl. On the other hand the Compiler made it in 1998 with 8 tds 1287 yds on 369 carries with a 3.5 ypc.. Life isn't fair..LOL

not only that but it's a high school prom contest where only the popular kids get a vote.
I am in the same boat. I did not think he was doing a great job but the article says differently. I am sure they have more info to go on the I do.

Forgot about Folk. Yeah he's in the conversation.
Sadly he may also be heading for IR. Which in the long run might be good for the team. Very hard for a ground and pound team that has the worst QB in the NFL to win with out a field goal kicker
