Are we any better now than we were two years ago?

We are terrible.

This preformance tonight has me more disappointed in this team than I think I've ever been. I knew we weren't going anywhere this season, but I expected the team to show some pride tonight.

Instead, we look like complete chumps. We look like the Browns at their worst.

Disgusted.

me too Brick. This season is probably the worst I've ever felt about this team and its because they play with no heart. I can deal with a team with no talent that plays hard but can't win but a team that has good talent but no heart is disgusting to watch. I called the Jets and told them I was defaulting on my PSL payment today. Not bc of lack of money but because I can't watch this team anymore. It's been a terrible investment. I can't be the only one who has backed out. The stadium will be empty for a while.

Under Idzik and Ryan?

Honestly, and sadly, I believe we are not at all better. We have are probably in a very similar position.

Short term, no. Long term, yes.

There is not as much talent on the roster as two years ago, but there is more young talent. Positions of weakness have become more solidified, such as at WR, where there are several promising young WRs. The OL is not as good without D'Brick and with a declining Mangold, but it has more young talent stepping up. Same with the secondary, where Revis' fall from grace has destroyed the team, but at least a guy like Marcus Williams is showing something.

The short term is going to be a very, very bumpy ride. But past teams had been built up strong, but on a flimsy foundation. Right now, the foundation is being built up, and it will take patience - something Jets fans never, ever have.

Yeah, I saw that also.......And I agree with it about as much as everyone else on this site. In every important area of coaching X's and O's, motivating players, teaching a disciplined game, holding players accountable for their actions, etc. Todd Bowles has absolutely failed even worse than last season.

For me what is proof positive of that is his unwillingness to mix things up. His unwillingness to make changes in the starting lineup in an effort to motivate the team. It's not just QB where change is necessary, you could take your pick of any number of players on defense? He's just stoic. He's lifeless.

This guy is supposed to be a Parcells disciple. Can anyone honestly say Parcells would sit idly bye while this team loses game after game the way this team has? There's NO way he would ever allowed that. He would have made changes and mixed things up by week 6 the latest.

So my feeling is although he may have coached under Parcells, the guy never retained a thing he learned from the man.................

I saw what they said an SNY. Even Westhoff. But honestly, giving Bowles a pass and bashing Mac is ridiculous. Mac is building a foundation of young players who are not yet ready to succeed, but are progressing toward it. Bowles has a team that consistently comes out flat. I would absolutely stay the course with regards to the GM, but I'm not sure Bowles will ever regain the locker room.

I agree with the wrong kind of talent but they both need more time to grow.

I really don't see all the talent you folks see...no hands Marshall is a fool. Fitz is not a starter. & the Gm has old guys that are ....lol.....real old. NO TE...but I still defend big mac he needs more time

There is talent there, but a lot of it is still raw and not yet progressed. There are several positions where the Jets have more talent than they've had in the past, but that talent is not near peak yet. Rather than focusing on the Marshalls and Fitz's, I am looking at the Andersons, Enunwas, Marcus Williams's, Wesley Johnsons...

Good point, and that is exactly the level we didn't have under development in the Idzik/Tanny/Rex era. That's also why we have had to resort to the F/A route to get competitive. Its' like chasing your tail.

I agree, and I think the front office is there with you. Even guys like Darron Lee have a lot of talent, though not quite utilized well right now.

Can the fans be patient, knowing that it will take a couple years? And is it worth bringing in a new coach if the team is not yet ready to win, and the fans run the new coach out on a rail the way it will Bowles?
