First of all, I want everyone to know that a bad season of this nature is always more than one persons fault. This season is most certainly group effort. Just as any good season would be a group effort.
With that said, there are varying levels of responsibility and that's where it becomes much more specific and subjective.
My feeling is that although Mac has definitely played his part in this, neglecting the OL, trading for Clady and now that has blown up in his face, etc. I think he should be retained. His infractions are not so serious as to clearly indicate he is in over his head. He should be aware of the mistakes he made going forward and know if it becomes a habit, he will likely lose his job.
Specifically the coaching is where I find the larger problem. Allowing players that are not in shape to play, accepting laziness, inability to motivate players, etc. and so on. This is why I believe the CS should be changed. At the end of the day it is Todd Bowles that bears all of the blame for every wrongdoing of his staff members. That's normal in football.
The bottom line is the product has suffered so much that it is no longer fun to watch the games. That is a death sentence for an owner if he allows it to continue. When that happens people stop showing up for games, the team as a result may become less profitable. It's all interconnected and this is why I believe action is absolutely necessary.
A$$es much be occupying seats and the team must remain profitable in order for things to forward and improvements are feasible to make to the team.
In the end, My belief is that Todd Bowles bears the brunt of responsibility for this debacle. There's way too much talent on this team for them to be playing so poorly. What is most evident is that is that everyone wanted Rex Ryan fired because it seemed like the only time that the team was motivated to play was against the Patsies. Please tell me how Todd Bowles has made this team any better. They've played horribly against just about everyone this season and really gave an admirable effort against the Patriots.
This just isn't what anyone signed up for........
