Ok as promised last spring here is my look at the Jets season coming up.
1) Big Mac as you long time readers on here know I did not give him hugs & kisses until I saw him for some time. I now am liking him for many of the things he has done. I like the young WR’s but what I like more is that he is keeping most of them not just the ones that did well in preseason. Some that look good will fail & some will rise to the top. In numbers we will do well over time at WR.
2) TB: Again you longtime readers on here know I love him. A good coach can make up for some areas of weakness on a team. Today all teams have a weakness or two. TB will help cover those areas on the Jets.
3) Revis will have a great year IMO. With our rush, quick LB’s & pass rush Revis should be amazing (watch his Int's this year)
4) Other CB’s: With a big rush & TB’s D we should survive here.
5) TE’s as I see it do we have any? Not good....This will hurt the running & passing game
6) OL I got to be worried
7) Geno I was all for him getting another chance but this pre-season he lost me.
8) LB, s can’t wait to see them in the regular season.
9) DL Is there any better. Williams looks like the real deal.
10) We will miss our NT but again TB will cover it so the loss will not be felt as much.
11) RB Lets hope Powell plays well. No faith in the others over a full season.
12) Special teams If they don’t fumble should be much better than last year.
13) Schedule not as bad as it first looked injuries have made it look better over the last month.
14) QB I just don’t like Fitz.
15) First five games we need a fast start. It won’t be easy but we can do it.
16) Biggest improvement this year & I am excited for his future = B Petty.
17) Injury factor. Some year’s teams get lucky & some year’s teams are not. You can’t say ahead of time but many of our Key players at WR, QB, RB & CB, OL are getting up there. We can’t afford losing our center, Revis, Forte, Fitz & our starting WR’s (the young guys need them)
Bottom line is TB will hold this team together & I see us having a good year if healthy. Just like my other team the Cardinals the QB could sink or swim their teams over the entire season.
PREDICTION TIME Ok this year is tough but I must say what my teams will do this year.
Jets 10-6 (no playoff) (range of wins) 9 to 11 **
Cards 12-4. (will win the Super bowl) (Range of wins) 10 to 14 **
** Range of wins is my way of saying if you played a 100 seasons with the same team in the same league 80% of the time the record would be in that range.
