Assuming Ed Oliver to the Jets is NOT a smokescreen

Here's what the TOP 5 may look like, also assuming Kyler Murray to Arizona at #1 is happening as well:

1. CARDS - Kyler Murray, QB, Oklahoma
2. 49ERS - Quinnen Williams, DT, Alabama
3. JETS - Ed Oliver, DT, Houston
4. RAIDERS - Nick Bosa, DE, Ohio State
5. BUCS - Josh Allen, ER, Kentucky

If we pass on Josh Allen and take Oliver, and then Josh Allen becomes a pro bowl sack machine, and Oliver busts...

I’ll join the torches and pitchforks and call for Maccagnan’s head.

If we really are taking Oliver at 3 as is being reported, we're passing on Allen for sure, no matter what, and Bosa or Q as well if the Cards take Murray #1

I’ve been extremely busy and haven’t been following. Is Oliver the latest workout warrior? If so, pass.

oliver was a huge high school prospect. top 10 player in the country that shocked lots of people by going to houston over the bigger programs including alabama.

before this year many thought he was a top 10 player (potential top 5 or even 1 overall). he was a 1st team all-american as a freshman and sophomore and he won the outland trophy as a sophomore (best interior d-lineman in the country). he had injuries his junior year which lowered his production. so he's definitely not a workout warrior who shot up out of nowhere. just had a down (relatively speaking) year largely due to injury.

Let me add this statement to my above post, unless this kid or Q. Williams is going to be the next R. White, J.J. Watt, W. Sapp or A. Donald, I’m going to be pissed with either of these two picks. Watt, Sapp, White and Donald aren’t just impactful players, they are true game changers and 1st ballot HOFers. There haven’t been many 280 plus pound dline men in recent history that have had a huge impact on the game like these four. Our recently drafted L. Williams, Richardson and Wilkerson isn’t them or even C. Jordan from the Saints. So if either of these guys can’t be this good or better, then why draft them?

Now ofcourse there have been recent 280 plus pound dline men to get 10 plus sacks, Campbell from Jacksonville as one example but to consistently do it and be that impactful of a player like Watt, White, Sapp or Donald hasn’t been the case as of late. So just draft Allen at #3 or trade back for a haul and go oline men and call it a day. If either of these two can’t be that then at least be C. Jordan from the Saints. Jordan is close enough to the other four but not them! Also, Allen has a better chance of being truly impactful like many others like D. Lawrence, L. Taylor, K. Mack and M. Stratham etc-etc...
