I do not believe the Jaguars feel good about their QB position, and this week, the only preseason game where the starters play for a half or more, so its really the first real dress rehearsal for the regular season and Bortles was awful, not exactly inspiring confidence in the Jaguars coaching staff.
That said, I still believe a straight swap of Teddy for Fowler (who is now a backup in Jax) makes perfect sense for both teams.
Bridgewater is a backup for us, but probably winds up starting for the Jaguars, and Fowler is a backup for the Jags, but definitely starts for the Jets.
Both are in the final years of their contracts, however if both teams decide to keep them we can sign them to extensions or use the franchise tag.
Lastly, the Jaguars are definitely a championship caliber team, all they lack is a QB they can depend on.
This trade makes sense on so many levels, I wouldn't be surprised if it happens this week.
