100% with you on this. It will be SO nice to see him shut down and have to shut up when the Browns don’t succeed like everyone thinks they are. What would be even nicer is when and if Darnold turns out to being a better and more accomplished QB when it’s all said and done.
He’s backpedaling from his comments about Daniel Jones. But it’s a bad look. What does he gain from that? Ripping a guy who had no control over where he was drafted. Outside of some ball control problems, Jones has looked really good throwing the ball. You can see now what the Giants saw.
Mayfield will say things like this from now on, and not care about consequences. It’s who he is. I’m happy we’ve got a classier QB in Sam, who’s comparable in talent.

tebow was ahead of the curve here on how much of a dick head mayfield is.. i like many figured, the browns would take darnold, the giants would take the RB & we would get mayfield.. i was plenty OK with this leading to the draft.. looking foward to drafting mayfield..
but man, this kid gets harder to root for every time you hear from him.. & what's worse is, he's not a dumb guy, he feels he can carry himself anyway he sees fit.. how wonderful for him, skip bayless' phony ass, the browns & their fan base..

I too thought we would end up with Mayfield but I was hoping and praying for Darnold with a passion. Like majority of us were. Now what I might have slipped on big time was, I was also ok if the Jets would have drafted Rosen and thought they were going to do it. I was 50/50 on would it be Mayfield or Rosen, and would have been fine with either one but wanted Darnold. Rosen playing the way he currently has hasn’t been real impressive. Regardless of the teams, coaches and players he’s had, he hasn’t been impressive and it would have been crushing if he was a Jets playing like that. Maybe he’ll rebound soon enough but for right now it ain’t looking good for him. Once again, thank you Browns and Giants and most of all, thank you Jets for choosing Darnold over Rosen, Allen and Jackson.
Mayfield is making the worst mistake a second year player can make, he's believing his own press clippings and assuming he is HOF bound.
This is a tough game and a tough league, filled with adversity, and it can humble you in a real hurry.
Honestly, I loved Mayfield in the draft, but it seems like Darnold was a better fit for New York. The sharks in the NY media would have eaten Mayfield alive.

Thanks for the shoutout!! Everyone here knows how I have felt about Mayfield so there is no need to say it again. We got the right QB that we can proud of on and off the field. I knew Baker would act like this with success. He was handed an NFL caliber roster at OU. He went to an 0-16 team that completely changed the offense in 2 years so this bullshit of him always having doubters is just fabricated. Maybe when he was a kid he had doubters, but not now. Let me just make this prediction it will only get worse with this guy with more success.

And Odell is now stating that the Giants “sent me to Cleveland to die”. The ESPN mouths are all defending Baker’s comments as “taken out of context”. I wonder if that’d be the case if he was on the Jets.
Of course not they wouldn't. The media capital of the world loves ragging on the Jets. We are the red headed step childs of the New York NFL teams. They will even kill the Giants. Just not as much as they will do it to the Jets.

I would rather be just very good with Darnold for 15 years and not win a Super Bowl than win multiple with Maydouche.
i'll take it a step further..
all things being equal, as an NFL skill position/OL FA, which of these kids would you sign up to work with?? because that will probably be the only QB you play with for as long as you're with either franchise..

I won’t go that far! Know I don’t think that Mayfield will win multiply SBs and Darnold won’t win any. In fact not only do I hope that’s not the case but I honestly believe it will be the other around but let’s keep it real here, we all want that SB victory and to have not just one but multiple SBs, I think we’ll take whatever QB will give us that. Only way I vibe with what your saying here is if Darnold put up Marino type numbers and didn’t win one but I’d much rather have a QB that will win us a few. I believe Darnold will be that guy but I’m just saying let’s keep be honest here and keep this in perspective.
If Baker was humble I would have no problem with him, but he is a complete phony and is full of shit. He is not a guy I can root for, but I sure hope somebody humbles the shit out of him.
I'm with you on that and I just don't want it to be somebody, I WANT IT TO BE THE JETS!!! We owe them anyway from last year.
I'm real curious to see what GWilliams has in store for the Browns when we play them in regular season. He should have a good idea how best to play to BM's weakness and rattle the little bastard.
I hope he makes one of his gestures towards GW because he will send somebody pre snap to crush him and pay his penalty for him. And I wouldn't mind it if did. Baker is the one guy I really can't stand and I really hope we or anyone humbles him. This is the one game I want to win and I want Sam to outplay Baker.
