Barr Staying Put with Vikings

I believe Anthony Barr was the #8 Overall Pick or thereabouts.
Why was he drafted so high?
Because he was a sack/pressure the QB machine at UCLA
What position did he play at UCLA?
3-4 RUSH OLB
What position did he play with the Vikings?
4-3 OLB
What position will he play with the Jets?
3-4 RUSH OLB (for an aggressive DC who loves to get after the QB)
Double digit sacks this year for Anthony Barr ... book it.

I think Barr snapped Rodgers collarbone. Hopefully he will do worse to Brady.

I want to personally thank Kirk Cousins for passing on the Jets and allowing us to draft Sam Darnold. And then paralyzing the Vikings cap and allowing us to sign Anthony Barr. Mike Maccagnan would also like to thank you for saving him from screwing the Jets for many years in the future and possibly saving his job. Although there is plenty of time for Mac to blow FA and the draft.

You can also thank Maccagnan for having the balls to trade 3 second round picks to move up for our FQB Sam Darnold. And don’t talk to me about “falling into our laps”. Macc will go down as the guy who took Darnold. Period.
Thank God he was the GM to do that. Not every GM would’ve done that. Some would’ve been ultra conservative and stood pat. It was a franchise changing trade.
I agree he made a great trade to get Darnold. I also believe he fell in his lap. I also know the reason he has so much money to spend is because this roster is devoid of talent from horrible drafts. Those are facts. I am giving him the chance to turn it all around this off season. I hope he does and so far he has made 3 great moves/signings, but so many more holes to fill.

the jets have so much cap room because macc held off on making big splash signings the last couple of years while he put the foundation in place. most importantly securing a FQB.
his draft whiffs the last few years really don't come into play when discussing cap room since only his 1st draft class would even be reaching the end of their rookie deals now (unless they had their 5th year options picked up).
i'm not defending his entire record here. there is plenty to be critical of. but he has also done some good, setting the team up for (potential) long-term success by getting the FQB and clearing cap space to upgrade the roster once this was accomplished.
yes, he absolutely needs to do better in this draft to go along with this FA class and follow last year's class.
Just saw Barr is staying with Vikings. I knew this was too good to be true.
Have to get Allen or Bosa
NFL.com reports Barr feels comfortable in Minn, and want’s to stay.

Better fix this Mac. Even though its not his fault that the Jets and living in NY is not desirable. I knew that slunt Ocasio-Cortez would fuck this up somehow.
Its not a devastating blow for sure. Still Houston is out there and we will get a stud in the draft at #3. Now we have $14M extra to play with for Paradis and Bell which would help this team way more than Barr and is his 4 sacks a year. Hell Jenkins is more productive.
