I’ve been there since 1984. I’ve experienced all of it. Being pessimistic as a fan is one thing, but bailing out on players who fall prey to opportunistic media with an agenda is another. Conor Hughes is a joke. He’s in the Cimini/Mehta category of beat writers looking for a story, and embellishing the story for clicks. I trust Saleh’s account of things much more than them. Saleh says everything’s fine.

Carl Lawson is also on PUP, but not one word of criticism about it. Becton has become a whipping boy from fans who read too much tabloid sports media.

I can agree in part. Why do teams maintain records covering so many years, oftentimes, the present team roster has not even been born? This could apply to all sports. No present member of the Jets can or should be held responsible for them not winning a Super Bowl since 1968? It was so long ago, Hunt had not yet named it as such. it as such.

hey, I'm as happy as the next jet fan becton looked good entering camp.. but in what alternate universe would it have been acceptable for him to look the way he looked at his presser a month ago?? or do you not agree he didn't look fit at his presser??

The only pictures I saw was at voluntary camp. He did look like he had a few more pounds on him that he did this morning. However I didn’t think he looked nearly as bad as the media and some around here made it out to be.

that's fair.. again, i also thought he looked ready to get things going today.. but make no mistake, if he has a similar camp to '21 he will receive grief from the beat writers (again) as well as some in our fanbase.. myself included..

if he's got his **** together now, great!! go out there & toss lawson (& our stable of legit DE's) around some this summer!! if he does, the fanbase will be doing backflips.. myself included because i loved the kid year 1..

Yeah. I thought Becton was fat. If you listened to some media people like Conor Hughes (who’s backpedaling now, go figure) and some fans, Mekhi was already a bust. A fat, lazy bust.

I think being in shape like it looks like he is will make a huge difference. Hard to stay healthy when you are fat.

According to both Andy Vasquez and Connor Hughes, Saleh has said Fant will be LT and Becton will be RT for the season.

Saleh said the LT/RT decision was “best for the team” this season bc of Fant’s strong year at LT last year. They didn’t want Fant and Becton switching back and forth during camp. Fant is also much more comfy at LT. Says Becton’s days at LT aren’t over, but for this year it’s RT.
