Ok no OL, NO WR's & no QB to help right now but do you think he really cares at this point. When Calvin Hill joined the WFL years back the coach ran him wide for like ten yards, again for eight, again for 15 yards & the next play the entire other team was waiting for him & split him in two...…..Do you really think Bell is not worried about his health being the only featured player. Plus many players get paid big money lose an edge....not saying this is Bell but could be.

I think at this point, he just got his payday and the starting QB is on the sideline so he doesn't care yet (which is why he has been so optimistic and saying things are about to turn around).

Now if it's game 8 and he's still getting pummeled like this with absolutely no help, his tune is going to change and change fast.

He is being a supreme team player right now for a few reasons I’m guessing. He’s paid now, the way he wanted and not the bullshit that Pittsburgh threw at him. He hasn’t played in a year so he’s probably just that grateful to be playing again. Plus he knows of the stigma he carried with the Steelers and doesn’t want to bring that here of being abit of a selfish player. Speaking of that, he’s probably happy as hell to be out of Pittsburgh and we are showing him so much love here. Bell knows we can’t place blame of any of this on him, this may be another reason. Last, he knows or believes that when Darnold and Herndon return the offense will be a lot better. What he probably doesn’t realize is they still will suck because they just don’t have enough to compete. So come week 10 or 11 when they are 1-9 or 2-10, he will start to get real frustrated and probably start expressing that and I can’t blame him.

Bell, as you guys have mentioned, doesn't mind carrying the workload now for the reasons that you mentioned but Gase allowing him to do it is a bad tactic. It makes it easy for our opponents to defend us because all they have to do is shut down Bell. They know that he is getting the ball 90% of the time so they are keying on him. They should at least be using Montgomery or Powell in tandem to give him some relief and make the defenses account for them as well as Bell. As you say, he will get tired of being the only bull in the pen sooner or later.

Maybe Bell got paid, but he appears to be the only offensive player on the roster actually trying to earn his paycheck. So many people assumed Bell was only about the money.

Playing hard is one thing, but trying to jump over guys might be a bit too risky given the current circumstances of this team. We do need a healthy Bell in the future when, as Bell put it... things get turned around.

Aside from playing hard, I like the optimism and leadership he brings to this team which was lacking for so many years. You can't put a value on those things.

I was one of those that was leery of spending so much money on Bell after a couple of other such deals burned us but I am convinced now that he is the exception and worth the money. It would be a shame to lose him or ruin his attitude because he was being misused. As hard as he has been working it's obvious that he can't do it alone and he will tire of trying to do so eventually as you guys have surmised.

I look at the Bell signing like the Curtis Martin signing. He is a game changer and now we need to put a worthy team around him. He can't do it alone and quite honestly right now without Darnold we simple don't have a QB who can throw the ball to save their lives.

Next week Cowboys up and they are going to be hungry to beat up on us after getting their asses handed to them by the Packers!

Hopefully Mosley will be back as well because he is a difference maker on that defense

Damn shame he’s all we got or all that Gase wants to use rather. Montgomery and Powell are available and Montgomery should be getting 15 touches a game at the least. He could activate Adams also but Gase won’t do that. At this point without Darnold, our RBs are all we got and he has to use them all but he won’t. IDIOT MOVE!!!

Our WRs and TEs suck but they won’t be of any help anyway without Darnold and a oline that can give the QBs time to get them the ball. Darnold doesn’t need a lot of time or can improvise it and that’s what we need. Until we get Darnold back, our RBs are all we have and for Gase to only use one is just asinine.

Gase needs to be playing Powell and a lot! We need a downhill runner who is just going to hit the gaps and take the yards he can get. With this line we need to get them into a rhythm and having them try to block forever or not knowing which way Bell is going to dance isn't helping at all right now.

Bottom line, Gase needs to wake up and figure out what works best for this group of players! This isn't a one size fits all league, you scheme and design your offense/defense around the talent that you have (not the talent that you wish for)!
