Any chance that Noah Spence falls to us? I would love to completely revamp our LB core in two days.

Hard to believe Spence or Jack will be there at 20. You would think Tenn will certainly take a chance on one of them.

My list is

Spriggs OL, Clark OL, Henry TE, Shepard WR

Good one, for me add OLmen Whitehair and Martin. Martin would give us a potential RG and ultimately C, Mangold isn't getting any younger.

Thinking Whitehair will be gone. I wanted Kelly in the first so Martin would be a good one also.

OL makes the most sense, but wonder if we continue with the speed theme. Hopefully, we break our 2nd round jinx.

I hope so.... but my money is on, if we revamp the LB corp, Kamlei Correa.

But I honestly don't think we go either... It'll be OL, CB or possibly QB Hackenburgh.

The first round was all over the place... I expected it to be crazy from us on.... there were only about 22 guys with true 1st rd grades but about 4 guys who went before our pick that were reaches and then after us it showed how players 21 - 100 are so evenly ranked. Not a great 1st draft but a lot of 2nd round talent will be had until the early 4th rd

Correa (or Fackrell) would make this defense pretty tough and fun to watch. Ragland would be the best possible scenario but I doubt he slips past the fifth pick tonight, unless his condition is worse that anticipated. Martin would prepare this team down the road athletically and financially. Wouldn't count out a WR tonight. Boyd would be intriguing and possibly the eventual takeout for Marshall. Shon Coleman or Le'Raven Clark could start at RT by end of the season which would be ideal.

They'll be looking at Hackenberg.

A lot of folks seem to be sympathetic of his situation in Happy Valley. They say he was a very poor fit for coach Franklin's offense, and there wasn't much talent around him either. He would be very intriguing with our 2nd, but if all of the above is true he won't be there when we pick.

There are some really good players still sitting there. This is a deep 2nd to 3rd round draft. Noah Spence would be a coup. I also like the TE Hunter Henry. Some good offensive linemen left, too. No way Whitehair makes it to us.

If Jack and Spence were there, who would everyone pick?? The guy with character issues or knee issues??

Jets could gamble on LB Noah Spence or QB Christian Hackenberg on Day 2

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- Day 2 won't lack for drama, either.

With the 20th pick in the second round (51st overall), the New York Jets on Friday could be staring at quarterback Christian Hackenberg and/or pass rusher Noah Spence, two of the most polarizing players in the draft.

For different reasons, of course.

Spence, once projected as a first-round pick, slid through the first day because of off-the-field issues. He flunked two drug tests at Ohio State (both for Ecstasy) and was booted out of the school and out of the Big Ten, landing at Eastern Kentucky.

Hackenberg, regarded as a potential top pick after an impressive freshman year at Penn State, hurt his pro stock with two infamously mediocre seasons. Some scouts love his raw talent, while others think he's a basket case.

The Jets hosted both players for pre-draft visits so they've performed their due diligence. My advice: Buyer beware.

Even though they drafted linebacker Darron Lee in the first round, the Jets still need an outside 'backer to play in their 3-4 scheme -- and Spence projects into that role. But he's a gamble even in the second round. He reportedly sent his most recent 20 drug tests to every team, trying to prove he's clean, but the risky-reward factor still is in play. There's also the matter of his speed. He ran the 40 in 4.8 seconds and, according to one NFC scout, "How many 4.8 guys do you see sacking the quarterback on a consistent basis? Not many."

As for Hackenberg, he has piqued the interest of general manager Mike Maccagnan, who attended his pro day. The Jets could use another quarterback in the pipeline, but the second round is too early. They have too many other needs to be flirting with a boom-or-bust quarterback. Offensive line, cornerback and tight end are among the most pressing positions.

The highest-rated available players on Todd McShay's board are linebackers Myles Jack and Reggie Ragland, but they'd be duplication for the Jets because they already drafted Lee. Other names to watch:

Boise State outside linebacker Kamalei Correa, tight end Hunter Henry, defensive tackle Jarran Reed and Virginia Tech cornerback Kendall Fuller.

The Jets also own the 20th pick in the third round (83rd overall). They're looking to acquire extra picks so don't be surprised if there's a trade or two.

Big 2nd round issues as I look forward

1. Is there a QB we want in the 2nd round who might be available at 20?

I bet that Cook is gone before it gets to us.

I worry about Hackenberg, but am intrigued. he was great freshman year - and there is a saying in scouting that once you demonstrate a skill you have it. Was awful SO and JR seasons because of team and scheme or was it Hackenberg? If management believes in the FR hackenberg, will he get to our pick?

2. There are tons of good DL guys available at this stage. I hope we dont decide that one of them is the BPA, unless he is an edge rusher

3. I hope we dont go WR in the 2nd - there are WRs who will be available in later rounds who seem at least okay. The OL and edge pickings get darn slim later.
