Bill Belichick: The Bernie Madoff of Football?

Like Bernie Madoff, Bill Belichick is highly secretive. No one knows what Ernie Adams really does.

Bernie's early years were mixed, but he was seen as an innovator. Bill's early foray into head coaching was mixed, but he was seen a defensive genius. Like Bernie, Bill got caught early, was scrutinized a little, but got through it.

But most intriguing is that Bernie claimed an average of 12% returns -- no matter what the market did. Bill wins 12 games a year and it doesn't matter who's playing for him. He even won 11 games with Matt Cassel.

Just sayin.

Good comparison, but Madoff was not protected by the likes of Kraft and Goodell, which is to say his Rabbi and Professional Godfather was not the closest confidant of the NY Attorney General, U.S. Attorney General and the Director of the FBI all rolled into one, which essentially gave him a license to steal.

Madoff actually risked prosecution. Belichick has a set-up Madoff could only dream of having.
