Bills Fire Rex and Rob Ryan

It took the Bills two years to figure out what it took the Jets five years to figure out: Rex Ryan isn't a good head coach. It's like that loud cousin over at your house during the Holidays. At first, you laugh a lot at his bravado and edginess. Then you just get tired of him, and can't wait for him to leave.

Please tell me how in the hell Rex gets fired after going 15-16 and Bowles goes 14-17 (more than likely 14-18) and he gets to keep his job?! Is this fan base and ownership ACCEPTING of losing? Do we have incredibly LOW expectations of our HC? If that's the case, I want no part of it....

It's not accepting losing. It's trying to avoid being a revolving door. There is something to be said for continuity, for letting something develop.

With the Bills, there was the expectation that Rex would step in and do in his first two years what he did for the Jets in his first two years. Rex is in part to blame for that, with his bravado.

As for Bowles, I absolutely understand you and others who wanted him gone. He has a whole lot of stuff to clean up if he wants to be a decent HC. But I also understand why the organization would try a bit more patience before making yet another change.

Bowles 14-17
Rex got to 15-16
I'm not really comparing coaches , Rex is in the conversation because we dumped him for Bowles And Rex did a nice job of stickin to the Jets , Bowles and the fans last year.
In their past three losses, the Jets have been outscored 116-26. The team is a joke.
It'll be even funnier if we stay the course .

The Jets have been atrocious at several points this year, almost Kotite bad. There is no denying that.

The question is, was 10-6 in 2015 the aberration? Or was 4-12 in 2016 the aberration?

In my opinion I've seen enough of Bowles. I hope I'm wrong but a year ago, Fitz's Magic bailed him out. This year we all regressed.

And it is understandable for you to say that. As horrible as this season has been, as terribly as Bowles has handled some situations, I am OK with continuity, if it comes with expectations. If the Jets are equally bad next year, then he obviously has to go. But if there is legitimate progress with a young team, I can live with that.

Remember, in the early 80s, Giants fans wanted Parcells gone. The Browns fired Belichick. Both the Jets and Pats fired Carroll. Sometimes, a little patience is merited, but in general, Jets fans are not a patient bunch. (I know the argument some will say, how they've been patient for 40+ years - well, no, fans who continue to root for a team but constantly want changes and firings aren't being patient, they're being loyal.)

If you are not going to give Bowles credit for 2015 because of how well Fitz played, than you have to give him a pass for this season for how poorly Fitz played. Its not fair to not give him credit for winning 10, than kill him for only winning 4.

Reason I'm not giving him credit for last year is that we know that Gailey is running the offense. They were very good last year and carries this team. This year they are not good but they are just a part of the reason we stink. His defense has been awful, he makes terrible in game decisions imo

the only complaint I have on TB is he tried to put the best players on the field at the same time... we really could have been better "IF" he didn't try to force them to work together but find the common ground utilizing all of his talent in the game plan rather than lumping them together which cause chaos...

some players work well together and others need time to figure out how to...

2015 defense was way better than this year, they were productive executing his game plan but there still was a log jam trying to put everyone in the wrong position... Still believe Gilchrist is more a strong safety not coverage safety even though he could be successful if we had a PAIR of cover corners in front of him... But because of Gilchrist being here it makes Pryor's job irrelevant, unfortunately...

And now starting EJ Manuel which means the sorry Jets will probably win and screw up their draft slot as expected.

Sunday will be very difficult for the Jets to win, they are decimated with injuries. Besides, even if they do win, they can fall no lower than they are now at 6.
