Carrying three QBs means less room on the roster, so poor old Tanzel Smart has been waived AGAIN after playing quite a bit in the Buffalo game.

It's my understanding that we owe Zach 10 mill next season regardless, and we can't move him directly to the PS without waiving him, which might mean we end up paying for a free backup QB for some other franchise.

At the end of the day Zach Wilson is a shiny toy that got out played by the wiley Ole veteran in Boyle in preseason. Tim knows this system and was groomed in it. So no one would have batted an eye if after week 1 if they made the switch to TB.

Wilson was never ready to make the college to NFL jump when he declared. His pro day he showed flashes of ability but that's it just flashes. His college tape showed he was far from polished. We would have been better suited to keep Darnold or sign Flacco if they didn't believe in Mike White for Wilson's rookie year.

Or maybe like Sanchez handcuff him offensively until he EARNED to do more. In practice. But they just handed him the keys and said here you go.

Look at Jermaine Johnson he did not come on until near the end of last season, McDonald not a wash yet. One thing he is a light Edge Rusher needs to bulk up. But with the talent we have he has time and he was an insurance pick if Huff left in free agency.

As for owning his mistakes trust me Saleh has already stated they made a mistake with Wilson by actions imparting ways with LaFleur who basically tied his job to Wilson.

The suspicion is that Saleh was told by Joe or Woody that Zach had to play. Given that, what do you expect him to say at pressers? It's still not clear whether the directions from above changed or whether Saleh decided he might as well be hung for a sheep as a lamb (as we say in the good ol' UK). Still the chance to make a more positive choice for the new PS QB. I would like to see them kick the tires on Kaepernick, he is the sort of QB who might survive behind our line. Besides, America loves a redemption story.

This guy outplayed Wilson in pre-season and the organization went with they draft pick even though they had planned to give him a red shirt year .
