Cornerback Dee Milliner (2013) and edge rusher Vernon Gholston (2008) stand above the crowd -- or below, depending on how you look at it.

Gholston, in three NFL seasons, failed to record a single sack. In the 2010 season finale, a game that meant nothing because the Jets had clinched a playoff spot, the coaches designed specific plays for Gholston so he could get that elusive sack. Not even a customized game plan worked.

Milliner was highly regarded for his cover skills, but there was some concern because he underwent surgery five times at Alabama. In his first training camp, sure enough, he got hurt. By 25, his career was over. No 2013 first-round pick played fewer games than Milliner (21).

I watched every game of his career and many more . I have sat through blow out after blow out and always believe we had a chance to comeback. Yes I am a sucker but what else could I be being a Jet fan . I will die that way also .

Blair Thomas was pretty bad.

I hated that selection the moment it was announced. Seattle was offering the house to move into our spot and draft Cortez Kennedy. But we declined to trade. After Blair Thomas was selected, no RBs were selected all the way down to Seattle's original pick. We could've traded down and still selected Blair Thomas....We could've also selected either of Kennedy, Seau, or Emmitt Smith. Oh, and Seattle traded with the Patriots instead.

and who knows... BT might have had a quality career with the Boys, and Emmitt might have been an also ran with us. From all accounts, he was a fine person who worked hard so who knows.

Mike Greenberg used to ask a fair question... "would Jerry Rice be considered the best WR in the history of the game if the Jets took Rice, and the Niners took Al Toon in the same draft?" "Would Al Toon have become a HOF WR if Montana and Young would have been his QBs?"
