Bosa at 3 or trade down?

Assuming the Cardinals take Kyle Murray at 1 overall, then with the Dee Ford trade to the 9ers, opens the door for Bosa to be there at 3rd overall do we lucky again...

Signing Bell, Mosley were big boosts to our team overall, then re-signing Anderson with Leo and thank you Barr for reneging on the deal opens the door for the stud from OSU...

So will we take Bosa or trade down...

For me, another gift wrapped present in the draft will solidify our front seven with DC Greg Williams we are in the driver seat...

Only way to trade down is if Bosa is NOT there at 3 and we get the kitchen sink to acquire more picks but as we all know this GM's track record on draft selections is below average at best...

I’ve been torn about whether or not to trade down, or stay put and take an edge rusher , especially since we have no 2nd round pick. I agree that Allen might be a better fit since he is an OLB . Well , they say good edge rushers are hard to find, so unless we are blown away with a trade down offer , which I don’t believe is likely, we might be better off going after a possible gem in Allen, or Bosa if coach Williams thinks he can adjust to OLB. In the 3-4 sceme.

I would draft elite edge rusher, if mac believes whoever is still available is elite. Unless, someone offers a package large enough to justify not having an elite young player. The problem is most teams don't have the ammo. Only the raiders and giants can offer 2 first round picks that are meaningful, I believe. But that leaves us picking way back in the teens with the 2nd acquired pick. 2 average starters, are not equal to an elite ER in my book.

Definitely can't pass on an elite pass rusher unless it is for a Ricky Williams type deal. They are too hard to find and we should know.

Remember Parcells trading back when he was with the Jets.
The player he passed up was HOF Orlando Pace, Parcells first pick was James Farrior was a great player, for the Steelers. Never really panned out here. Lost his job to Sam Cowart.
Cant remember a single other player from that draft.
this is just one example but if Bosa is there, I believe, he needs to be the pick. Maybe even J. Allen.

An ER is a big need. If we trade down maybe with the Giants, there is a strong possibility that we can get the best CB and Center in the Draft. Two positions that we need along with an ER. Which way is best depends on what we want.

actually parcells traded down twice. missed not only HOF orlando pace, but also HOF walter jones. only other player of note we got (in addition to farrior) was jason ferguson.

as great as parcells was for the franchise, that was just a huge cluster-bleep of a mistake

I don’t think Macc trades down. There will be at least one great ER prospect sitting there for us. Maybe two. And the value matches the need. That is the key here. I would be perfectly happy taking either Allen or Bosa.

I'm concerned about Bosa in a 3-4. A little less concerned about Allen in a 3-4. Williams would be a fit in either scheme. If they can trade down and still get a pass rusher and potentially either an O-Lineman or CB, I would vote to trade down. So my answer really depends on what they can get, and how far they would need to move back.

I remember that draft. It was his worst draft by far.

He strikes me as the kind of player who gets his name called a lot by the announcers because they see his number on the top of the pile, rather than the guy under the pile who actually made the tackle. And they also know his name because of his brother's success.
I fear he'll be one step too slow in tackling and one second too slow in play recognition.
I hope if they get him, I won't have to say I told you so.

If Bosa falls into their lap, have to take him. I am fairly certain one of Bosa or Allen would be there, if not both. And I don't see passing on that.

Yup, same here. I think he's overrated.

Williams, Allen, Bosa, in that order for me. My concern with Bosa is the same as others have already mentioned.............he is basically a 4-3 guy and I'm not sure how well he would function in our 3-4 system. If he was all that was there at 3 I would certainly give him a try.

I think both Bosa and Allen can be elite, far above the rest of the class, with Bosa above Allen. That said, either of them would be a very good addition at #3. A choice between them would be too much to ask for.
