Georgia linebacker Leonard Floyd had to cut his pro day workout short because of a bout of food poisoning, but he had another chance to show off his skills for the Jets.

Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports that Jets coach Todd Bowles and defensive coordinator Kacy Rodgers traveled to Athens, Georgia last week to work out Floyd and fellow Bulldogs linebacker Jordan Jenkins. Bowles was also in attendance at the school’s pro day.

Floyd is projected to be a first-round pick later this month although there’s some difference of opinion about how to best utilize him after he played a variety of roles at Georgia. The Jets’ biggest need would seem to be for pressure off the edge, something that Floyd could give them with the 20th overall pick.

Jenkins, who played on both sides of the Georgia defense and sometimes lined up as a defensive end, isn’t expected to go in the first round. He gained a lot of starting experience in college, however, and should find a role as a pro whether he lands with the Jets or elsewhere.
