If getting angry is going to light a fire under this team's ass, so be it. I'll grab the flamethrower. I keep hearing "we had a great week of practice" out of Jets players throughout the week. So what's happening guys? Why is O'Brien out coaching Bowles so much, running wildcat and other trickery freakin plays! Why do players look out of position at certain points of the game? Are they prepared? Why is JJ Watt not being double teamed more?
I'm not calling for Bowles to be on the hot seat. I hate judging HC and GM's based on less than 2 years. But I'm still starting to wonder about his long term future.

Bowles is a bad head coach right now. His management of games has been terrible. I can't be the only one wondering about his terrible clock management/use of time outs. That WILL come back to haunt us at some point.

We are just too impatient. That's why all those Jets coaches and GMs that got fired go on to have so much success in other places. They just can't stop winning Super Bowls!
My problem is the team has regressed since the NE game. Every team has injuries... Losing Colon (one penalty for the year reflects coaching and accountability) and then Mr. M being in and out of a few games has made a HUGH difference in the OL play. They are in fact quite dysfunctional at times. That coupled with the consistent number of DROPS by Marshall, Decker and smith is a problem - think about some of those drops, when they occurred in the game and how that could have change the game completely. IN addition, rather the playing within his limits Fitz is trying to do to much (Ints). That coupled with really shitty O playing calling well you have the current mess. One final comment they need to use the F TE period.
On D you have older players that need to sit. Pace/Couples (who I hear got cut, thank GOD), Davis should ride the pine. WE need to substitute them with younger hunger players like Mr. Maud and Mr R, Milliner (if he can stay on the field), marcus, etc. One more thing I am wondering if Mr revis Hammy is still a problem... he may not be as fast as he once was but yesterday he had no ability to close ....just saying

Come on people. Bowles is and will be fine. He needs time to get his type of personnel in the building. Is he Bill Belichick yet? No. But he has a roster with limited talent and no team speed. He has a journeyman qb and an aging OLine. His DB's have seen their best days behind them. His LB's are not good. He and the GM will need time to make up for all of the horrible drafts the last couple of years (i.e. Coples who was waived today).
Despite all of the optimism to start the season, they were never serious contenders. Want you want in your first year from the HC and GM is marked signs of improvement. If the Jets win 8 games they will have doubled their win total from last year. Give them time.

I tend to agree, except the part about "limited talent". They have a $150 million dollar secondary that is very talented, and it seems they've fallen into this dangerous trap of assuming that all they need to do is show up on game day. They have holes and weaknesses for sure (OL, LB). But this team has the talent to win. They have the talent to get into the playoffs.
They're just not getting it done right now. I think this season can turn around. They've got some very winnable games left.
I think most Jets fans expected our Defense to be top 5 ,carrying the Offense if needed. When in fact there was a lot of unknowns on Defense. LB-Safety was unknown with front 4 being solid & CB's able to lock down the WR's. Way Jets Defense played in last 4 games was only the front 4 on Defense & the other 7 looked awful. I'm very disappointed in LB Harris-Revis-Cros play after being paid. We were unsure about LB Davis & Safety Pryor & knew Coples Pace wasnt going to make a difference.
Right now Jets needs to get a RB-use Cumberland more at TE , maybe Ray Rice for vet min? Needs to fire Gailey for so many reasons, I didnt want him hired & he still coaches like 1990 which is no passing & using TE's. Gaileys play calling doesnt fool Defenses at all. Shoot it took Gailey 3 games to figure out Play Action pass to keep Defenses honest. I cant Blame Bowles when Gaileys causing a lot of Jets trouble running the Offense from his sky box of greatness. Bowles was the BEST Coach out there if you wanted Rex gone. But in no way was Bowles coming in starting like Rex did as a rookie. Very rare for a rookie HC coming in & going to play offs in first year. Bowles will be fine next season, but remember Jets now facing 2 former Jets coaches that want to stick it to us every year in BB & now Rex.
You overrate their talent. I'll ask you a question: Who on the Jets do other teams have to game plan for? I'll give you my answer: on defense Mo and Richardson. On offense, no one. They don't have a game breaker on offense like a Rodgers, Bryant, Hopkins, Jones, etc.
They have a back up QB with a good receiver on decline (Marshall) who drops wayyy too many balls and a bunch of guys. Ivory is banged up but healthy he is no Adrian Peterson.
Even yesterday the Texans had the two best players on the field: Watt and Hopkins who made the difference in the game.
Coaching matters but talent wins games....

You may be right that players may have made a difference in the game yesterday.... If we had Parcells as our coach we would have won that game.... The difference in this game was not Hopkins or even Watt it was Houston's gameplan on offense that won the game... The wildcat that we couldn't stop and the trick play. Yes Watt and Hopkins made plays but the reality is without that gameplan by the coaches as bad as we were Houston does not win the game... Overall we have more talent they just had the 2 best players...
Teams have been game planning for Brandon Marshall. Gailey alluded to it the other day. They're double teaming him. That's not usually the mark of a "declining" player. Yes, he's had some drops, but he's also been very good through most of the season. And Eric Decker is no slouch, either. He's having a good season. Ivory is being keyed on weekly by opposing defenses. After the way he gashed teams for a month, you can see teams stacking the box and daring the Jets to run.
Nobody on offense? You underate these players.
I think Bowles has to assess his coaching staff after this season. IMHO, i would absolutley love Ken Whisenhunt as our next OC. I like Chan, but he just chucks the ball deep 80% of the time.

If this is true, expect a number of players gone - warning to Antonio Cromartie who just in last game clearly gave up and was out of place on a few plays is he the next gone or someone else?
I hope this puts an end to the ridiculous notion that Bowles lacks emotion, and that he is too laid back for the job. Just because he's not some clown in front of a camera does not mean he is emotionless.

Its funny sack I heard that from the AZ HC and players... its only some Jet fans that think he is emotionless. I rather have an adult coaching the team then some blowhard who only gets his team to play hard maybe four games a year....
