Ok. We deal with it. He gets a pass on this season. Mike Mc needs to get the roster better and then Todd has 2017 to improve the team!!

It is what it is. I'd rather the team err during a rebuild by holding onto a coach one year too long than firing him one year too early.
He doesn't need to turn the Jets into a playoff team next year, but he needs to show significant progress and hope that the roster foundation is young and improving, including at QB.

This is the issue i have with retaining Bowles (playing Devils advocate):
The 3rds year would be make or break in order to merit a 4rth year. In saying so, Bowles will reach for a veteran QB in order to build around the one Mac has faith in, Hackenberg.
So i fully expect the Jets to go all out to acquire any of these guys:
Cutler
Romo
Glennon
Foles
...................... and i wouldnt rule out Ryan Fitzpatrick coming back.
If we're going to a brand new system of a youth movement, as much as i cant stand Todd, you have to almost guarantee the 2018 season if we're going with Hackenberg. Though i feel Todd will be stuck between a rock and hard place for '17. Kind of like Rex in '14.

I tend to think the organization will (hopefully) make the right decision to try to address the QB situation long-term, with either Petty, Hack, or a drafted rookie. It's possible they bring in a Romo for short-term, especially if they draft a QB. But I don't think the organization will once again go the band-aid route.
Exactly. If the team is young, at least 7 wins. No more double digit loss teams.
If they make an organizational mistake and go heavy into veteran free agents, trying to buy their way into a wild card to appease the fan base and the papers, then at least 9-7.
Anything less, and you dump Bowles, but keep Mac. He deserves the chance to choose one HC on his own before he would be sent packing.

If it was just a media report, I would wait before I believed it. But this is a Jets employee, a team PR staffer, a spokesperson. If the team is putting out word, it's official.
I'll wait patiently until we hear from the owner and see what transpires. If Bowles is here to stay, he knows he has to make dramatic changes to the staff. We will see if he is willing to do so.
Many things can occur from now until the end of January. This is the reason why i'am still not sold on what was said today.

6th-Justus Galac-Strength and conditioning-How many of them dropped like flies and landed on IR again?
Again, lets see how everything falls into place within the month before we give the 100% on Bowles staying. Many changes coming, lets see if Bowles is "ok: with it first.

Bowles should have gone first. With that said, this sets up Bowles being fired midseason . They falter with 5shitloads of money spent to improve the team.

It doesn't sound like Bowles or Macc was ever in danger of losing their jobs. Bowles said he's never been worried about it. That means he's was told "don't listen to the media or fans".
Regardless, he and Macc better get this shit show turned around. As others have noted, Rome wasn't built in a day. They need a solid draft, a few under the radar non-splashy FA signings, and the 2016 draft picks to progress next year (Lee, Hack, Shell,ect).
