Boy am i going to get in trouble with this post on Marshall

He is not as good as his stats show. Stupid plays costly drops & fumbles do not make him a great all-time REC in my book.

Some people try to compare him with Maynard, Wayne, Walker or Sauer. Not in my book. It is like the Met fan that raved about Murphy. The fans may like him but he can't field & is not a top hitter.


Now to be clear He had a very good year but he cost us also.


As of this year Fitz, Decker & Marshall will not be on my ring of honor.

I have a real problem with my jets in that Ivory & TB are still the only jets I love on this team.

hmm, he is a good possession receiver with a big catch radius... yes he has made brain fart plays over the course of his decade career... some more curious then others, but his production is from a dedication to his craft not just ability... he has worked hard to be that team first guy after early in his career being a team distraction... is he a player to build a team around, no but Todd Bowles did work with him when they both were in Miami and TB believes he can be a short term solution while this team continues to build this roster for the long haul...

one can say the same shit about Decker who has been inconsistent since he got here... could be the quarterback or could be the durability issue ED came here with... so do we wash our hands with one or both of them or do we ride them another year so we can develop young talent to take over for them?

this combo might not be the sexiest in the league but they are productive... I expect at least one more solid season from these two leading the way with Ftizpatrick at the helm... we still need a 3rd & 4th option to work along side these two starters... once we figure out who will be in the backfield and fix this offensive line we can start to look into the future on their replacements but right now they are two quality options that we wouldn't be where we currently are today...

I did not say get rid of them but that they are not super stars even though the stats may point that way......But on the roster now I see no good or average rec's besides these two. If we are looking for young blood on our WR roster......Dracula already beat us to it. We are bone dry! LOL

Sad thing is he is still one of the best WR's the Jets have ever had. There is a reason he has never made the playoffs. Still glad we traded for him. He has one maybe two good years left.

This organization is thin on talent. Everyone knows we need 3 or 4 good drafts to be a real threat. Marshall is a true number 1 and a future hall of famer who also makes bad drops. That's the rub, nobody is all up side. But take him off this team, and what's our record? .500?

The afc was was open this year, this was a great opportunity to take advantage.

Marshall was our MVP this season. Not only was he an outstanding player this year but he was one of our leaders. Only cared about winning. Did you see what he did after he scored the TD? He jetted off the fixed and told everyone to get off which to me said, "hurry, we have a lot of work to do". He's all business.

When Decker scored he did his version of the lambeau leap.

Bad routes, bad reads, inconsistent effort are responsible for far more incomplete passes than drops, but you don't always see that from your seat in the stands, or on TV. And with Marshall I would say his blocking is probably responsible for more plus yards than his drops negate.

That said, I don't think we can have 2 WR with the dropsies, so if Enunwa can't improve he might have to go.

There are lots of things that take fans out of and get them into games, but GMs and coaches can't look at that. On the field, they should only be concerned with production. Otherwise they'd go for it on every fourth down, ESPECIALLY with less than 2 yards to go, or inside the 5.

He is VERY important to this offense, probably the most important part of the passing. He is legitimately GREAT WR. He is personally responsible for creating Fitz renaissance season.
With that said, however, he was just as responsible as anyone else for the Jets choking in Buffalo yesterday.

BM had some big drops this year, however, he also made Fitz look really good at times too. For example, he TD catch against the Skins he pulled off the turf and turned it into a TD.

If he only had one drop yesterday Than he was tied for second in drops in the NFL with 10 or 5.4% Three fumbles & that stupid play that help cost us a game.


Add in that he was second in the entire NFL with yellow flags (WR) with six **....Yes even Beckham had only five LOL

On the plus he made some great catches & scored 14 TD's He is a plus.


Look I like Marshall I hope he stays but I try not to put the NY over-rate tag on him. Same with Wilkerson until this year......This year he (Wilk) was great case closed.

RU for real? Lets see 4,170 yards passing... BM 1502- 13.8 yPC and 14 TD, decker had 1,027 - 12.8 and 12 TDs. I been watching this team for 47 years and you going to say that WR do not drop balls... they are two very talented players that we need...next year.
