Per Cimini's tweet.

He was a great Jet. He played 10,351 of the possible 10,352 snaps since the Jets drafted him in 06.

Wish he can come back for cheaper. I guess this is how we are signing people....

Guess we now know what position the Jets will drafting in the first round. Dbrick was a great Jet. Don't know if he is a HOFer but as a Jet, he is to me. Thanks for all the hard work and dedication Dbrick. You will be missed!

The good news is that we should expect a deal between the Jets and Fitzpatrick to be done soon.

The team must have known and honestly, i've always heard former players say that once you think about retirement, you have already retired. So this is probably a good thing for whoever is our qb. Although, i will miss Brick. A true professional. We have been really lucky with Brick and Mangold on our line for 10+ years.

that concussion movie affected him more than anyone thought and knowing the cover up was someone he trusted weighed heavily in this decision... then taking the pay cut cemented his decision...

with this decision the Jets would be foolish not to draft a tackle with their first pick... and now everyone knows why the Jets haven't released Breno and why they were looking into signing a left tackle this off season is because they were aware of where he stood...

they have faith in Qvale to replace Breno at RT, but at left tackle is another beast and I doubt they have that same confidence...

Spriggs, Clark, Conklin are the three names to watch out for come draft day...

IMO no hall of fame. He was good but if he watched his films of the last few years.....He knew it was time.

Brick in the Hall & Klecko not....I don't think so

Very good player for a number of years.....But as genesis would say fading lights.

Hey a good guy & Good Jet.....He did walk away lucky

No matter if he has slipped the last few years he still played well enough. He was always out there and never injured.

On the down side I wish he would have done this earlier so we could have signed someone. Now we are in a bind big time having to possibly depend on a low first round rookie which is always dangerous.

Wonder if this in a slight way effects Fitz coming back.

Well, some of you got what you wanted, let's see how well we do without a serious LT. Even a diminished brick was better than most teams have.

He missed 1 snap in his entire career, a mangini trick play. Never missed a practice.

This will seriously test bpa folks. Odds are a stud LT won't be available at 20. I think Conklin is my only guy at 20,but he's probably a top 5 or 10 pick.

Do we go LT in round 2?

I doubt they forced his hand to be honest even if he wasn't asked to take a paycut I bet he still retires. He has alot of mileage on that body he has been our most durable player by far since he was drafted.

Of course I want us to win the SB this year & every year But I think to build now & win tomorrow is the way to go for this team. Lets look at the future. If it were me I would trade one of the DL men for a young QB. & start getting in guys for the OL. I wanted Mangold gone but with no Brick we need him to bring the rest of the young guns along on this team.

I still don't feel good about Fitz it is a crap shoot at best.

Well as pink Floyd would say this is "another brick out of our wall" the problem is this wall has had holes in it for a few years.

They say the NFL has a 100-percent injury rate. Not true. Because of Ferguson, it's 99.99999 percent.

love that
