No, I didn't mean you. The radio said Mehta was reporting that bricks camp said he would have played if the jets didn't cut his pay.

Manish is a joke, Brick was done after seeing that movie... We were one win away from the playoffs and I believe that was the only reason after the movie came out is why he finished the season with a chance to make a playoff run...

Playing scared is certainly a killer.

4 1st place teams 4 2nd place teams 4 3rd place teams and 4 last place teams just like any other season. They scored 56 on the NFC champs of that season and blew out the 10-0 Titans.

He wasn't worth the money he was making anymore, wasn't worth the tremendous cap hit, he was on the downside of his career, nothing more than a mediocre left-tackle.

If he wanted to retire rather than take a reasonable pay cut, thats his prerogative ... have a nice life.

A little cold man.
I think we are a better team with him than without him, even though his play had slipped, it was still above average, and at the most important position.

Maybe we get lucky and find someone who is not a big drop off. But I think while his play had slipped, it's a bit of the other side is greener thinking from some.

I'm not so quick to get rid of dependable talent, I'd rather someone beat him out in camp.

First paragraph I agree with.

Bolded part..................Meh

D'Brick was a class act. He left the team with a lot of class. He was a 3 time Pro Bowler. I'm glad he was a NY Jet. I'm sorry to see him go...........................It was time

LOL I'm sure he'll have a good life. He earned $67,000,000 while being a Jet. Seems like a really smart kid. I suspect he is going to have a real good life.

Guys,

I never said I didn't want to keep him. I did, but only at a price that was requisite of his skills, which have eroded. He was still a pretty good player, but he was making elite, franchise LT money, which wouldn't matter one bit too me if there wasn't a salary cap to consider. If there was no cap I would say, fine, lets overpay him for his years of service, but you don't have that luxury in the salary cap era, you don't have the luxury of rewarding people for years of meritorious service.

As for my "have a nice life" comment, I wasn't being snarky, I meant it. Indeed he is a class act and if he felt he would rather retire than play for less than franchise LT money, I really do wish him well in his retirement.

I'm just sorry we couldn't keep him on the field until his heir was on the team. It's absolutely ridiculous that his name is dbrick, most fitting name ever since max powers.

Tom Banks deserves to be there too.

Wow you are a real football fan!!!! It is so funny that the cards stunk in the 60's & folded in the 70's but they had two of the greatest OL's during these years. You hear about Dobler & the other D man all the time but there were so many others including Mr Banks

I remember the fight that Dobler started with the Dolphins that got him ejected. I remember him throwing his helmet.
