Broncos DE Antonio Smith being investigated for child abuse

And we all know the league is not playing games when it comes to domestic violence of any kind, against women or children, ask Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson who both sat out a full year, and Antonio Smith is 33 Y.O. and was signed as a one year stop-gap at 3-4 DE, now he might not be available at all.

Translation, the need at 3-4 DE just got even more dire for Denver than it was before, and it already looked like a big need to begin with. Another massive need for the Broncos is at OG, and we seem to have some excess at the position, nothing great, but guys we can throw into the deal who can start for the Broncos.

So now here's what I'm proposing if I'm Mighty Mac, and you'll want to buckle in for this one ...

Mo Wilkerson and their choice of Oday Aboushi, DJ Dozier, Willie Colon or Brian Winters, so the only OG's I'm holding back are LG James Carpenter and the recently drafted Jarvis Harrison whom I have a good feeling about as our prospective RG, the rest they can choose one from (probably Aboushi), FOR (drum-roll please) ...

VON MILLER

Wilkerson and Miller are the same age (25) and both are amongst the best in the league at their respective positions, but I think most would agree Miller is more of an impact player by virtue of what he does best, which is rush the passer, so I'll throw in a Guard which they desperately need as well, a guy like Aboushi who granted is just average, but he has starting experience with upside and he's better than what they currently have, so he starts for them immediately too.

They can swallow dealing Miller for a stud 3-4 DE like Wilkerson, only because they just drafted Shane Ray, so with Antonio Smith facing serious child abuse allegations, its worth a try, it can't hurt to make the call and make the offer, whats the worst Elway can say, no thanks?

NFL trades are tough to pull off this time of year after the draft. Not not sure the Broncs would let go of Von Miller OLB ?

Personally I would offer Wilkerson to the Jacksonville Jags for their #1 pick next season. That could land us a top notch QB or OLB, or LT ? We need to start thinking about replacing Brick in the next couple of years @ LT, and if he won't re-negotiate next year, sooner might come before later. The Jags are in a pickle with Dante Fowler their #1 going down already with an ACL injury. Just a thought, it will be a very low pick I believe.

Not sure if Mo is worth a number 1 pick. Like Savage69 has said previously, we got a late 1st round pick for Abe and he was a much more accomplished player than Mo is right now.

Some here seem to think Mo is a combo of Bruce Smith and Reggie White..LOL I would like to see Mo sign for a reasonable deal and stay with the team.. However if I had to chose to pay a fat contract to either Mo or Sheldon it wouldn't be Mo.. Not to worry Ham is working with Mac on a trade deal right now..:)

To answer Ham's question, I'd love Von Miller over Mo. We move Coples back to the dline and we are still stacked if not better.

I like this deal best of all the Wilerson trades you have proposed. We need to get you and Macc hooked up to a bat phone
