Like this kid. Please be our franchise QB!!
Petty didnt quit & got other Players to play hard! I was happy with his play. What was impressive was running to his left & throwing a nice pass. Thats the first thing Defenses do to rookies, is chase them to left & see if he can pass. Kaperneck couldnt run left & pass in 2 years & still struggles doing that. Bowles didnt sound impressed about it & actually made it sound lucky Petty could make that pass. Not so, & he will get better after some bumps
The one biggest takeaway I got..... Was when Powell ran in for the TD and after the penalty against the Niners was declined. Petty ran off the field celebrating and the first player to congratulate him was Mo Wilkerson and MO was incredibly enthusiastic.. followed by the rest of the defense.. Maybe normal but I don't know what it was but I just got this feeling like the defense was beyond ecstatic to play in a close game make a stand and have the Offense make plays and win the game and not turn the ball over on their final drive as Fitz did 3 times this year.... Not absolving the defense for their poor play in spots this year as well but they look re-energized to finish out the season... Or I am reading to much into that moment
anyone would be ecstatic to play with someone who is making plays and not hanging his hat when things go bad... Petty was feeling like a kid in the candy store and gave that feeling to the rest of the team an infectious feeling... kick in the ass the team (entire team) has been searching for all season long playing with a qb that deflated the team...
