The Jets' defensive coordinator, playing with third-string cornerbacks and second-string inside linebackers, confused rookie quarterback Dwayne Haskins by changing looks. The Jets didn't blitz a lot -- save for Adams -- but they played coverage and forced him to hold the ball, resulting in six sacks. This may have been an audition for Williams. I love Williams as a DC (IMO he did well as interim HC in Cleveland but I'm assuming his no nonsense personality didn't mesh well with the pre-madonnas there).

I'd hate to see him leave but if he can get a HC gig somewhere, he has to go for it.

OBJ reopened the whole Bounty Gate mess and Williams was the central figure in that fiasco. It will make a lot of teams hesitant to make him their HC.

Not mention it looked like they were spearing guys, both Smith-Schuster and Johnson took nasty helmet to helmet hits that knock them out of the game and have them both in the concussion protocol.

Call it targeting, call it an extreme lack of discipline, but that team lack discipline and accountability on both ends of the ball and Williams isn't there anymore so gonna have to find another scapegoat for that.
