So no question, he sucked last year and we all had high expectations this year.

So far going into week 4, has he met your expectations? He has already made a bigger impact this season compared to last but he still makes some mistakes. He over pursues on certain tackles but having said that, he will only get better.

This is why we shouldn't write-off young players until at least a few years into their career!

You can't judge anyone on a rookie year, although where he was drafted, you would expect an immediate impact. I believe he will be a good jet, but shows idzik drafted poorly at that high in the draft.

That said, I like the tenacity I see from him. In on gang tackles, ripping the ball out in indy. I can't wait to see this team gel and grow into a monster. Waiting on Richardson to grow up.

His Rookie year should be thrown out altogether. It's irrelevant. John Idzik the incredible dingbat left this team stranded with no viable options for the secondary. That left Rex Ryan being forced to make other very undesirable decisions including playing Pryor at FS. Pryor obviously did not want to play FS, but it was forced on him out of necessity. It's a bad situation that just got worse as time went on.

This season, on the other hand, the GM did his job and gave Todd Bowles what he needed to succeed. Now that there are no major deficiencies at FS, Pryor is now playing at SS where he belongs.

For me the improvement is huge. He's already had a huge interception for us and I love the way he really thumps people going down the LOS. The big test for him this season will be how well he can cover Gronk when the Jets play the Patsies.

He takes poor angles on occasion, but he's stepped up quite a bit from last year. I think he underestimates how fast some guys are. He'll continue to improve.

Agree that Idzik and injuries forced Ryan to scramble in the secondary, but Ryan compounded the problem by playing Antonio Allen at CB and putting Pryor in an uncomfortable position. That left them with a keystone cops situation in the back 4. Thankfully that is not the situation this year.

That's a classic Monday Morning QB response. Since when do you know more than the Head Coach? The guy that is intimately familiar with his own team? You're also essentially questioning his defensive pedigree. As if somehow you know more about the athletic abilities of some players and schemes more so? Like you've been spending time in the locker room with all of these players.

That's ridiculous. The most obvious and common sense answer is to look at the talent level of the team. John Idzik f*cked Rex Ryan. He knew damn well what Rex needed to run his schemes. We've all seen it. We saw for years how Tanny tried to get Rex two corners that could defend "on an island". He wanted to bring the house. John Idzik did NOTHING to help Rex Ryan with that situation. In fact, he COMPOUNDED the issue by never replacing Dmitri Patterson after he was cur for missing a game. Rex Ryan was forced to try and make chicken salad out of chicken sh*t his last 2 years in town and that is a fact.

Rex Ryan had also just come off his coaching campaign of his coaching career. He guided the 2013 Jets team to 8-8 when they had almost NO talent on offense at all. That was a coaching feat for the ages.

Now if you wanted to criticize and say his teams were undisciplined and drew too many penalties or his defenses never generated any turnovers? That would be hard to argue. History proves that out. But to sit there and pretend as though you more know more than a guy like Rex Ryan with NO evidence to back it up, just pure speculation and a bad attempt at reading between the lines is pure arrogance.

THIS season makes the point even more visible. Do you think Todd Bowles would keep everyone in their native positions if MacCagnan hadn't added Darrelle Revis, Antonio Cromartie, Marcus Gilchrist, and Buster Skrine to the picture? Todd Bowles has great talent to work with. Rex Ryan had NOTHING. He'll, he didn't even have Dee Milliner, the guy that plays good corner when he's in there, but is a bum that can't stay on the field. Another brilliant move by Idzik.

Not ridiculous at all. The great coaches are able to play to their players strengths, not force them into your scheme. To me that's poor coaching and shows a lack of imagination. Ryan continually did that and it killed not only the team, but retarded if not destroyed the careers of several of the players.

rexy sucks plain and simple it takes a hc and gm to build a team what screwed us was the injuries to mcdougle and milliner and then the other cb went awol all after fa was over.

so it was hard to bid on fa players when we had 3 that were showing progress and rex was looking forward to having them in the line-up

I've been impressed with him this season. Last season was scary lol, he was bad, but he's def improved a good amount.

Pryor make the play of the game by saving a TD at end of half. He has really started to come into his own.

I am really liking what he's bringing. I'm also loving the depth at safety with Miles.

Pryor looks like a completely different player this year -- big hitter and a big play guy. The play he made on Beckham in the end zone at the end of the first half may have saved the game.

Before last season, I bought myself a Pryor jersey. Haven't worn it yet, I just might have to break it out for this week's game.

This year he's playing for a smart HC who has put him in the position he was meant to play and the one he excelled at in college as opposed to the HC who forced him into the wrong spot because he had to fit into Pop Buddy's 1980s defense

This year he is ruining Mario Williams the same way
