Can Joe Douglas Get Draft Capitol for Brian Winters?

We all know Brian Winters is a tough son of a b*tch, he plays through injuries until the breaking point or the team sees no reason to let him suffer and place him on IR... With that said entering his contract year next season and there is no more guarantees left in his contract he is still a valuable interior lineman so why just cut him whereas there are teams in need for a veteran option...

Kyle Long in Chicago their RG has officially put in his papers for retirement and we know how much the Bears love ex Jet offensive linemen... The Vikings might have a want to get a veteran option to go along with former Jet Dakota Dozier on their OL... Just saying to release BW might not be worth to us in a rebuilding phase if we can get something for him then why not...

My ultimate deal would be Brian Winters to the Vikings for this past year rookie 4th round Dru Samia... Blocked for two first overall picks in Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray... For us would help fill another much needed need and he is only 22...

Regardless if the Jets kick Edoga inside we would have 2 pieces in the rebuild of our horrendous OL...

I would certainly go the trade route if possible. Makes much more sense.

anything is positive...

but like I said a team that has a roster in need of a vet to step in right away may be willing to let go of their young prospect in a player for player deal...

Won’t get anything for Winters ...... older and injury prone. I’m just happy there is no cap hit on him.

I'd be shocked if they get anything. Maybe something very late in the draft, but I don't see his value on the market.

Don't be so sure he's leaving, we may not be able to replace him. Unfortunately the rules of the game say that the offense has to have at least five interior linemen on the field at all times.
