This is the one position that has me a little worried, no has nothing to do with Darrelle Revis he will do his thing... On the other side Buster Skrine has shown little to nothing in preseason that warrants that we will be fine with him lining up across from 24... Was hoping that Marcus Williams would get the nod to at least compete for that starting job, but seems they are content in utilizing him as a hybrid defensive back...
No way is rookie Juston Burris selected in the fourth round ready to take on that role, so we are asking ourselves what is management doing? Looks like they are hoping 4th year man Dee Milliner (aka: Glass Man) could finally step up and be that healthy cover corner he was drafted to be... All honesty that looks to be a long shot right now after he suffered another injury to his arm in preseason game 2... So if Milliner is out is there someone who can step in or is this position already shelved before we even get started?
One name that has shown up so far is rookie free agent Bryson Keeton whom has shown very good ball awareness in coverage... But Keeton like Burris will need some time before they can get a handle on the speed of the game before they can grab that other outside position...
Daryl Morris brought in this off season is more of typical special team's role player that could line up at the nickel position... And we all know there is no way that Dexter McDougle is likely to be the first cut from this group with all the injuries he has endured in his short stint in green and white... So this leaves us with second year man, Kevin Short who has shown some flash of ability but nothing to say he is our man...
No pun intended seems this position is a little short on depth...
