The Jets are slated to have $72.5 million in cap space next year. They could get considerably more if they decide to move on from:

• Henry Anderson ($8.2 mill saving)
• George Fant ($7.4 mill),
• Alex Lewis ($5.4 mil),
• GVR ($3.4 mill)

equals to $97 mill in cap space

The only one I'd cut is Anderson, they have better and younger guys on the D-line that emerged this year. I think that Fant, Lewis (when he played), and GVR showed enough to warrant staying. An OL generally improves when it stays together. Even if they draft/sign upgrades, OL depth is crucial.

Lewis was placed on NFI List by Douglas because he was and is under contract for two more years and JD knew Gase was going but Alex was here to stay...

Joe Douglas is planning to re-sign Pat Elflein expect that PE and Alex Lewis to be the starting guards with McGovern is the center...

Fant was a turnstile got beat by plenty of speed rushes and he is suppose to be an athletic tackle to handle speed rushes...

Edoga is likely out the door, GVR could stick around as swing guard but what about Cameron Clark? Conor McDermott got a one year extension so he is here...

I know there were injuries, but I'd really like to know what the deal was with Clark this year. Did they just write the year off as a red shirt year for him? We need long term help inside and I was hoping that he could be a solid piece going forward; still could I guess.

he didn't fit into Adam Gase's game plan is what the actual rumor is stating...

Gase only goal besides training Sam Darnold was to get Frank Gore to 16K...

Developing Clark was a back seat to the beast of Becton who could help his goals...

reason why Alex Lewis was placed on the NFI List by Douglas to keep him on the roster past this season was he spoke up against Gase and his aforementioned will to win... Think a lot of players also believed that he had an agenda, and once Gore got 16, not only did he leave the field of play he chose not to play in week 17... It kind of backs the selfishness of Gore and Gase....

I know it is really hard to believe that a coach alienated the entire roster but his QB and well his RB...

He did the same thing in Miami. Alienated all but a few of his guys and got run out of town.
