IMO, this is why there is a vocal minority on taking lee at 20..have to believe it is the issue that he is an excellent run defender and our linebackers right now are not capable to be that consistent especially inside. Lee is more of a coverage option right now and has long way to go. we have no depth in that position, so until they either draft or sign somebody will they make that decision to part ways with him. Wouldn't be against him sticking around one more season to help the growth and development in this area.
yes, the the kid is fast enough to "be in the neighborhood" in pass defense.. hell, he better be.. lee's probably about 215 on game day.. problem is, he showed no ball skills at all..
the production gotten out of lee could have come from a kid in the middle of the draft, if a regime wanted to invest that many snaps to a kid like that..
if this regime does try to build around lee, it's because they are trying to justify the pick, not so much his potential..my two cents anyway.. & if i end up being dead wrong, nobody here will have to remind me to eat crow.. i'll own it..
