Michael Floyd, the wide receiver who never quite lived up to his promise as the Cardinals’ 2012 first-round draft pick, is now out of work.

The Cardinals have released Floyd today, two days after he was arrested for driving under the influence.

That arrest was the last straw for Floyd, who was already considered a disappointing player based on the way he was performing on the field this season. The Cardinals once thought they had a future star in Floyd, who topped 1,000 receiving yards in his second season as a professional. But this year he has a career-low 446 receiving yards, and a player who’s producing at that level can’t keep his job if he’s also a problem off the field.

Floyd will be subject to waivers, meaning any team that wants to pick him up for the rest of the season is free to do so. Floyd still has talent enough that some team in need of depth at wide receiver may just pick him up, and it’s possible that he could find himself playing a part on a playoff team. But he’s done in Arizona.

Even for a team on a playoff run, I wouldn't touch him until you find out what the league has in store for him.

It is sad as I thought Floyd was another brick in AZ's wall at one time.....He was a poor mans Fitz at best. there was some talk that he has lost speed but I son't really see that.....But he fire did go out this year

For the Jets stay away from him Woody......could he be great I guess so but as of today,,,,,another loser is not what we need.

Yes, ofcourse they did and best believe when ever he does play, he will catch 10 passes for 150 yards and 3 TDs a game straight for their SB run. He'll probably run for 50 yards and another TD game. Ofcours thats going to far but knwing the Pats luck, the catches, yards and TDs probably will happen. Anyone else and Floyd would be garage.

They can afford to take the chance, if he plays 2 games for them and helps them to a win it's worth it. 2 games and a win for us just moves us further down the draft board.

He gonna break Flipper Anderson's record next Sundays afternoon vs our Secondary'less defense.
Bowles specialty, right?

Well four years at ND showed him how to drive. The Cardinals should have shown him how to drive drunk I guess.
