Eagles mess is funny. Wentz to Colts with his old OC ,now Head Coach that got the best out of him to Super Bowl will get Wentz back to form. Herts at QB isnt going anywhere even though he got players to play hard for him and sabotage Wentz allowing him to get hit and dropping catches. Wentz might think about being liked by his team mates or same thing could happen again. Wentz is better than Herts but team mates showed who they liked by playing extra hard for Herts and then no effort to protect Wentz. This trade means little on Darnold. Darnold is only 23 and if he goes to a team with great O Line giving Darnold 5 to 6 seconds to pass he can become a average QB high as 15th. Heck if they can get Darnold to open his vision to open WRs and throw the damn ball he could have quick turn around. Jets didnt ruin Darnold. Darnold shouldnt have been drafted that high and should have sat for 1 or 2 years learning, and thats the only Jets mistake with him. Darnold to 49ers for end of 1st round is fair or early 2nd in front 10. Darnolds value at 23 has 3 years cheap to make him a average QB that can make playoffs.

This has far more to do with cap space and the contract. I don't think it reflects on QB value in the market.

The Eagles got less for him because he has an albatross of a contract, just like the Lions got more from the Rams because they agreed to bring back the Goff contract.

Cap space is king right now, and the Jets are loaded with it.
