You guys both make great points honestly. Idzik will prob get fired though and there's a reason for it. I don't think it's Woody caving into the fans' demands. Although that may have had a minor role of it, Idzik is getting fired for the product he fielded.

I have explained it in numerous posts!!!!!!!!! ad nauseum!!!! I'm sick of typing it up!!!!!!!!! And the notion that he's not worse tha other GMs is not my idea!! It's your characterization of what I said!! I wrote that there's no GM that came away from those two drafts with more talent than Idzik!!! You rewrote that as he's no worse than any other GM!!!!!

I agree he's gone! Woody caved to public pressure which was ignited by the press! I think it's a big mistake! I think we're going to see his players blossom with the new GM. I think we're going back to old school football at a time when the league is moving to advanced quantitative analysis. Moneyball --- NFL style. I think that's why the Pats win. Ernie Adams and Bill Bellichick. But we're going back to smash mouth football and rah rah bullskit.

And I hope I'm wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!

And I've explained my point. I'm done arguing it. Our team sucks and Idzik played a huge role in that. Time to start over. Idzik would be here if he proved he can handle the job. House cleaning is necessary and should have been done two years ago and then maybe Idzik would have had a chance to succeed. Starting over and cleaning house with a high pick and cap space should lead to a good GM/HC.

But you haven't made the case against Idzik. House cleaning? I prefer a different analogy: Surgery. First do no harm; second, identify the problems and address them -- surgically. We can use another analogy: you prefer carpet bombing, I prefer a series of surgical strikes.

Surgical strikes are why we are in the mess in the Middle East. Or at least why we can't win it. Drop the nuke and everything can be rebuilt.
