Report: Chandler Jones overdosed on pills

The reason for a weekend trip to the hospital by Patriots defensive lineman*Chandler Jonesinitially wasn’t know. According to Chris Curtis, producer of WEEI’sDennis & Callahan Show, it now is.

Curtis reports, citing unnamed police sources, that Jones overdosed on pills on Saturday night. An ambulance transported Jones to Norwood Hospital.

The pills taken by Jones aren’t known. In theory, he could be subject to NFL action if the substance has been banned by the NFL. The medical records generated by the trip to the hospital undoubtedly contained information regarding what Jones ingested.

Automatic suspension would arise only if the compound is a PED. For street drugs, an initial violation would result at worst in placement in the league’s substance-abuse program, along with enhanced testing. Multiple violations typically are required before a suspension occurs.

UPDATE 8:37 p.m. ET: The report from WEEI initially claimed that the overdose happened at teammate*Rob Gronkowski’s house. That tweet has been deleted, replaced by a new one that reiterates the overdose report, but that does not say where it occurred.

If you read earlier reports posted to PFT, the police were even in on covering it up.

This is from an earlier PFT story:

"The Herald reports that Jones was rushed to the hospital on Sunday morning after he went to the Foxboro Police Department with a medical emergency, but police refused to say what the emergency was. Police also deleted information about the Jones situation from their dispatch records.

Foxboro Police Chief Edward T. O’Leary initially denied that his department had any dealing with Jones but then admitted later that at least five officers were involved in evaluating Jones in a parking lot at the police station. He said he had denied it earlier “because it was a medical call. I didn’t look at it as a police specific call.”"

And now apparently the Patriot asskissing Sucksboro Keystone Cops (Commissioner R Kraft) have deleted Gronk's role as the Drug dealer who supplied Jones with his fix

Really haven't seen this type of arrogance since the Dallas crackwagon of 1992-96. They really think they are smarter and work harder than everyone else.

AND before you kill me, imagine these reports coming out of a lockerroom like Cincy's.

What Happened With Chandler Jones?

What Happened With Chandler Jones?

There is a strange, mysterious story unfolding involving Patriots Pro Bowl DE Chandler Jones, police, a hospital visit, an officer’s apparent reference to drugs, and the unusual deletion of police dispatch records once the media started sniffing around. Let’s try to sort out what we know so far.

The Boston Herald broke the story yesterday. At 7:42 a.m. Sunday morning, they reported, Jones arrived at the Foxboro, Mass., police station. He was evaluated there, and taken to a nearby hospital after 8 a.m. The Herald was stonewalled (and apparently, outright lied to) by Foxboro police chief Edward T. O’Leary, and no more details were immediately forthcoming.

Overnight, Heavy.com obtained audio from police and fire dispatch. You can listen to it here, and fast-forward through the dead air:

The dispatcher described Jones, upon his arrival at the police station (he apparently walked), as a “confused party,” and summoned medics to treat him. He was then transported to Norwood Hospital; there is a reference to “ALS,” or advanced life support, which is not necessarily as dire as it sounds.

One officer was dispatched to a nearby home, apparently Jones’s. That officer radios back to dispatch:

“I got his keys off the kitchen table, I was able to lock the front door. If you want to just pass along to the fire, he was definitely involved with Class D delta before this happened, just so they know.”
Class D is likely a reference to a schedule of drugs, with marijuana probably the most common. The full list of Massachusetts Class D drugs can be found here.

A particularly fascinating angle in this story is the response by Foxboro police chief Edward O’Leary. When the Herald contacted O’Leary for comment on Monday afternoon, he claimed that his department had had no interaction with Jones. This was not true. Five officers had been present as Jones was evaluated in the parking lot of the police station, and one was dispatched to his house.

Then the Herald received Foxboro PD dispatch records—which had been modified to remove information. That deletion took place after the Herald had first called O’Leary. Though O’Leary claimed it was standard procedure to protect medical information, he said he couldn’t recall another instance of dispatch records being altered.

O’Leary then attempted to explain why he had earlier told the Herald that Foxboro PD hadn’t had any contact with Jones on Sunday.

When asked whether he had misspoken in his earlier conversation with the Herald, O’Leary said, “No, because it was a medical call. I didn’t look at it as a police-specific call.”
Theories of a cover-up are only fueled by the fact that O’Leary is in charge of Gillette Stadium security. There are plenty of not-necessarily-contradictory rumors out there, and Foxboro PD’s attempts to squash this story are only going to keep them flying.

Whatever happened with Jones, it was apparently not that serious. He was treated and released at the hospital, and took part in Patriots practice the next day. The Patriots’ top pass rusher is expected to start in New England’s divisional playoff game against the Chiefs.

O Leary being head of Security at Satan's Gate Stadium and therefore a paid lackey of R Kraft AKA Satan Incarnate apparently altered police records and obstructed a police investigation to protect Gronk who was the drug dealer and Kraft

Goodell and Kraft will sweep this under the rug at dinner at Kraft's house this weekend like he does with all patriot way transgressions including homocides

Patriots’ Chandler Jones hospitalized after bad reaction to synthetic marijuana: report

BY BERNIE AUGUSTINE NEW YORK DAILY NEWS Updated: Wednesday, January 13, 2016, 4:38 PM A A A

One of the Patriots’ top defensive playmakers was hospitalized because of a bad reaction to synthetic marijuana, according to the Boston Globe.

Chandler Jones, who led New England with 12.5 sacks this season, showed up at the Foxborough Police Department at 7:42 a.m. Sunday seeking medical attention. From there, he was rushed to Norwood Hospital.

Exact details beyond that are murky. The Herald reports that the police dispatch record of the Jones call was altered after they first contacted Foxborough Police about the incident. Chief Edward T. O’Leary told the paper that medical information was deleted from the police record.

“It’s protected information on a medical condition,” O’Leary told the paper. “Officers get training in making sure it’s information that’s not to be disclosed. I trust my lieutenant to know the difference.”

BILL BELICHICK SHOWS UP AT PRACTICE WITH WICKED SHINER

Chandler Jones was a Pro Bowl selection in his fourth season with the Patriots.
O’Leary initially told the Herald that the police didn’t handle any calls relating to Jones over the weekend. He later ammended that statement when the Herald obtained the dispatch report, saying “it was a medical call. I didn’t look at it as a police-specific call.”

Heavy.com published a recording from the police scanner that supposedly involves a call to Chandler’s home, located only a block from Foxborough PD. In the recording, an officer is heard saying: “I got his keys off the kitchen table, I was able to lock the front door. If you want to just pass along to the fire, he was definitely involved with class D delta before this happened, just so they know.”

In Massachusetts, Class D refers to certain drugs, including marijuana.

The Patriots, true to form, said little about the circumstances leading to Jones’ hospital visit. Jones was present at practice Wednesday.

“Chandler Jones was admitted to the hospital on Sunday and released that day,” the team said in a statement. “He reported to work on time Monday morning and has participated in all meetings and practices since then.”

The NFL will review Jones' incident.

The Patriots host the Chiefs Saturday afternoon in the AFC divisional playoffs.

Weird, synthetic marijuana mentioned in the headline, but not the article.

They're probably right though, SM isn't tested for by the NFL

How can he still be playing This weekend if he basically admitted to using a banned substance?
