First off ....
Yea I know who the Gm is.
So your telling me the cooach doesn't know which players are brought in?
But every reporter following the team and every fan knows?
I'm all for the kid don't care bout his past
But your head coach replies " which Jenkins " come on that's very telling...
I don't need , want , or care about Rex or the other coaches that have coached this team for the past 47 years. I've been a jet fan long before these guys come and go, and if I don't like what a see or hear from them I don't have to like it.
He doesn't have to yell , scream , be funny in his pressers.
could care less
Keep losing and the NY media will eat him alive.
This isn't about his personality , it's about is he head coach material.
It's his game plans , halftime adjustments, blah blah blah.
We shall see.
when a reporter makes a simple question will Jenkins play this week there are three, yeah we know who the reporter meant but the coach is not going to simply guess who he was talking about because our rookie Jordan Jenkins was plagued with an injury for the first two games... as a coach or g.m. even coordinator you don't want to just assume who they are talking about (don't want to give free information they weren't looking for) and maybe he had a brain fart, who knows...
Head Coach material is not how he presents himself in front of the media/camera... It is how he develops this roster from coaches and players alike... Does he motivate these players, does he motivate these coaches to do their jobs to have these players ready from game start...
So far in his second season, there are some young players that have made a turn around since he has been here in only two years... Calvin Pryor isn't there yet but from Rex Ryan to Todd Bowles he made a huge leap... Brian Winters also like Pryor has found his footing... They drafted two quarterbacks so far Petty has made strides since being drafted... How bout Quincy E. has made leaps n bounds since Bowles has been here... One of the major reasons these guys have improved is the motivation from the head coach which he doesn't get credit for...
The half time adjustments is one thing he is good for but playing from behind is a problematic every week... The major thing he needs to improve as the team's conductor is getting this team off to a fast start (offense, defense, special teams)...
We shall see, but it doesn't happen overnight after three full seasons we can judge him on his total body of work...
