Last night's game was a humiliation - straight out of the Kotite era. The offense, with the exception of Bell and to some extent Anderson was awful. Bell deserves better than this, he played his heart out, and this team embarrassed him last night. As a fan, I am yet again embarrassed to be a Jets fan. National TV, and that's our team. That's our offense, from the offensive guru?
I was very angry when Gase was hired. I thought it was a poor decision. But he has carried himself well and you saw signs that he and Darnold were clicking, which is most important. I liked the Gregg Williams hire. That was then - this is now. Right now, Gase looks like he doesn't have a clue. His offense is epically bad. Williams looks like a blowhard. Hey Gregg - Jet fans don't want to hear your bullshit. What we want is to win. Here's a tip - after all of your years of coaching you should know this - if you rile up great players, they will beat you. Stop talking, and start coaching. You can't talk a lick after this game or any other. Do you get what franchise you're coaching for?
We are two games into the season and it's over. We were embarrassed on national TV. The offense is not only unimaginative, it's predictable and just flat out bad. I don't care who the QB is, that was atrocious football. The defense played well, except for Beckham shredding us - which you knew he would do after Williams opened his mouth. He's too good of a player and our CBs are not very good.
There is no bright spot here. This is already a very bad team, and it's going to get worse. You think the Browns are good - wait until we play the Patriots, Eagles and Cowboys - they are going to obliterate this team on both sides of the ball. They are 3 of the very best teams in football, if not the three best. It's going to get much worse.
I'm not sure where this post is leading to be honest - but this coaching staff has already grossly underperformed. This is the offensive guru? This is the defensive guru? It's a not even a joke, it's a cruel joke. After 2 games, the entire team is in disarray. The only bright spot I can find is that Joe Douglas should be a good hire. That downside is, he'll stick with Gase because, well, he's a Gase guy.
I'm not sure what the solution is - but it's the same thing every year. And I'm sick of it.
