Colin Cowherd loves Darnold/Skip Bayless hates him!

I'm watching Colin Cowherd today and he's talking about how he much he loves Darnold. He's loved him even before the draft and always has said Darnold needed to be drafted #1. He obviously loves Darnold over Mayfield and he believes Darnold will be a much better QB then Mayfield down the line. He didn't take anything away from Mayfield and stated that he thinks Mayfield will be an excellent player. Just not as good as Darnold. Skip Bayless on the other hand has always disliked and disrespected Darnold and loves Mayfield. He will not give Darnold credit no matter what he does but will give Mayfield credit SOMEHOW, even if threw 5 ints in a damn game. These radio and TV sports personalities are so funny on how they view these athletes. I guess there no different then us regular fans.

One thing I respect about Cowherd is even if he doesn't like or respect you he will give you your credit when it's do. Skip Bayless will never do it and even the credit he sometimes gives for someone he doesn't like is always some back handed, under minded, undercut and insignificant compliment. He does it all the time to Lebron James, Eli Manning or Aaron Rodgers for example. Stephen A. Smith seems to be luke warm on Darnold and Mayfield and wants to see more from both before riding any of their jocks. Max Kellerman on the other hand seems to like Darnold a little bit more the Mayfield but won't hesitate to give Mayfield his do. This comparison between Mayfield and Darnold will go on for years, probably decades. Just like Elway and Marino or Magic and Bird.

At this point, I don’t know how anyone can “hate” Darnold. That’s a weak assessment. He’s shown that he has the ability to be a FQB. It’s still early, but Sam looks legit to most people including myself. It’s certainly OK to like Baker Mayfield more. He’s shown big time playmaking skills. But both, at this point, appear to be the real deal. The Jets and Browns both have bright futures with these young QB’s.

Skip is just that type of an asshole. He will not give Lebron James a legit compliment no matter what he says about him. To Skip, Jordan is GOD and Lebron is a peasant. Same with Brady to Eli or Farve to Rodgers. Skip even undercuts Montana's greatness to Brady's now. I've always hated watching any show that Skip was on because he's that type of person. Back on topic, Darnold still has a long ways to go but he's coming along just great. That's the beautiful thing about this all, he has a long way to go and he's that good at this point. Imagine what he will be in 3-4 years? Taking nothing away from Mayfield because he has the goods also but Darnold is my guy and I'm so glad the Jets landed him. He's two years younger, more mature and already showing signs at 21 years old of being a franchise QB. Gotta love this!!!

Bayless is probably the worst sports analyst, particularly football, in my lifetime. I can't even remember the last time I listened to him, anything he had to say, and if I'm changing the channels and quickly see his face, I can't continue changing fast enough.

I'm with you that. I sorta like the show he's on because of Shannon Sharpe and the other guest they have on but it's hard to stomach Skip so I always change the channel as well. Did it when he was on First Take also.

Both guys are just opinionated blow hearts and maybe you can say all of these sports reporters or journalist. With Colin and Skip they seem to take it to the next level but like I said, I can stomach Colin because he is level headed, Skip for the most part is a straight up dick!

Colin is a big Jets fan. I find watching him talk about the Jets sort of like an ego boost. However, its all fluff.

As far as Skip, Stephen A-hole, and the rest - they are just shock entertainers - not journalists. Costello is a real journalist, Slater another good one. However most are trash sensationalists that masquerade as sports journalists - no different then the trash in the regular news. Sensationalism in news was always a thing but in last decade it has exploded as news sites have lost ground to bloggers that have almost no journalism experience and were using shock and awe to attract followings - eventually the news sites had to do something to keep viewership and so they capitalized on their content delivery and employed their own versions of shock and awe sensationalism. The problem is large portion of audiences think they are watching real news. The fact is they werent entertained by real news so instead they decided to turn on Skip, Stephen A, CNN (yes the entire network at this point has shifted)...Funny thing is like any shocking content, eventually it gets saturated and audiences no longer are shocked by it and move on - that is when the ratings start to take a hit. For example - Skips ratings while still good are actually causing some heartache. The network paid him for his old ratings, his new ratings are good, but they are not worth the value they are currently paying him. CNN, has some of the worst ratings in broadcast news, Stephen A which had done well in his spot is now being used by espn across their shows because their ratings stink. However, this has now started to hurt them and Stephen more. People are realizing the guy doesnt really know his stuff, he has had a ton of mistakes in the last year on air. Not to mention most people that avoid him have been further turned off by ESPN for not being able to avoid him.

My two cents for what is is worth. Maybe I am wrong.

Even if it’s the Cowboys and we all know how he hates the Cowboys to his cure. Skip on the other hand it’s the biggest blow heart I ever seen or heard on TV. I truly dislike the guy because he does the exact opposite of what Colin or Stephen A or Max Kellerman will do. I can tolerate the other three but not Skip. The other guys you mentioned that are legit, their names don’t ring a bell or just not to familiar with them but need to look them up. Thanks for mentioning them.

I'd by lying if I didn't admit that sometimes Stephen A. makes me LOL. I can't stand Max, Skip or Shannon. As for the hosts, Joy Taylor > Molly Qerim and it's not even close. Even though I hated her brother (Jason Taylor) when he played for Miami, Joy Taylor is a fox, hot as hell, drop dead gorgeous, and of course being Jason Taylor's younger sister she knows more about sports than most guys, and WAY MORE than that empty chair, Molly.

I'm glad Joy left that idiot show and joined Colin instead.

Brian Costello is a long time Jet beat reporter for the NY Post. Daryl Slater is a long time beat reporter for nj.com. Both are level headed are very good for the most part.

Forevergreen, CNN is a network of shock and awe sensationalism? Can you provide any evidence for this claim? And what does your view of a news network have to do with football? Not a detective, but I can guess your view of Fox news. I’m not a moderator, but what do you say we stick to football, or at least to sports. For the record, to me Steven A. is a blowhard, but I enjoy his passion because it feels genuine to me. He is not very knowledgeable about sports other than basketball, but I enjoy his rants. What I don’t enjoy is when someone takes a controversial stand when it seems contrived, as is the case with Skip.
