Great question. So why have we kept him
I'm good with this except if Travis is available I don't see why Tyrod can't be the 'cheap one year bridge' and Travis the backup. If Travis is not available then bring in a journeyman or a second/third round draft pick to be the backup.Neither is worthy of a first round grade.
Let's get a top reciever to pair with Wilson. A RT to complete the line. A safety, corner and DT. Build a team a young QB can thrive with. Not barely survive on.
Get a cheap one year bridge QB let Tyrod be the
backup and see what we have in Travis .
Next year we can grab some FAs, draft a QB and add some more talent in the draft. This years QB class is shit. Trade up and dig into a deeper hole is more of the same ol Jets. Next we will be throwing top dollar for washed up bum to save jobs due to the failed QB.
Biggest problem is that Travis is a complete question mark. I didn't have him rated as a first round talent when they drafted him. In fact I'm not sure he was even a second round. Add to that the fact that he hasn't done anything since becoming a Jet but stay in the shadows. Tyrod may still fit into the picture somewhere because he's still under contract and a decent QB. But at this point we don't have a starter named and have no clue what Glenn and Mouge have in mind. It's so challenging to be a Jets fan...........I'm good with this except if Travis is available I don't see why Tyrod can't be the 'cheap one year bridge' and Travis the backup. They won't have any idea what Travis can do prior to the draft or more importantly free agency. He won't see the field until OTAs.. I expect a cheap one year option for this season.I'm good with this except if Travis is available I don't see why Tyrod can't be the 'cheap one year bridge' and Travis the backup. You can say the same about any QB in the draft. But you can't put your guy in the PS or he just gets scooped up by someone else. So you either carry 3 on the main squad or you make your rookie the backup. New Orleans finished the season with Spencer Rattler. They won't have any idea what Travis can do prior to the draft or more importantly free agency. He won't see the field until OTAs.. Can't throw a rookie on the field with this roster.
How did that work out for him and the Saints? You can say the same about any QB in the draft. But you can't put your guy in the PS or he just gets scooped up by someone else. I agree let's look at our goodsHow did that work out for him and the Saints?
You can keep him on the roster and have him as one of the inactives too.
Travis has a guarantee salary. May as well get a look at him.
If Tyrod was durable, I would agree with you completely but he isn't and has never been able to stay healthy.
100 %. Tony and I agree totally on what to do with Travis. Nothing. Until we have a chance to see him work out in OTAs nobody has any idea what he brings to the table. Maybe his injury is going to be a permanent problem preventing him from being what he needs to be and maybe he is totally healed and plays like he never had an injury in the first place. Also Maybe..............he was over evaluated by JD and Saleh and they were hiding that by keeping him on the injured list. We just don't know and I'm sure that Glenn and Mouge don't either. The Jets will almost certainly add another QB before camp starts.I agree let's look at our goods
I might add that I expect that QB to be a vet. Not saying they won't draft one as a potential guy under center. They very well might but I don't think he would be very likely to start this season. They will start a vet to open the season I believe. This new regime probably isn't expected to win the super bowl this season but I would bet that they are expected to impress. They won't do that by burning a rookie QB at the stake in front of this fan base.100 %. Tony and I agree totally on what to do with Travis. Nothing. That's a change as most of our QBs end up as dogsI might add that I expect that QB to be a vet.
Tim Boyle might be available for the right price. But it's all speculation, dependant on Travis's health and who the new OC wants to work with. I wouldn't be too unhappy if they picked up Fields, provided they didn't give up much for him. But perhaps the Jets will produce a total headscratcher like trading for Stafford or giving up the farm to take Ward at #1.I might add that I expect that QB to be a vet. I'll show you mine if you show me yoursI agree let's look at our goods
I’m sure the staff didI agree let's look at our goods
You know the old saying BigMoe. Empty heads lead to empty seats. Let's hope Glenn & company are notI’m sure the staff did
And it’s not even worth talking about between either them or us .
Jets and the new regime better have a plan
If they trot this shit out they’ll be more empty seats in the stadium
But that’s doesn’t seem to bother woody
Although he tried with Aaron but gave up too soon
I bet if he plays he makes the playoffs this yearI’m sure the staff did

Fortunately woody is unlikely to play unless we get really desperate.I bet if he plays he makes the playoffs this year
