The NY JETS have had 3 Draft Classes under GM Joe Douglas, and the 2nd with Coach Robert Saleh. Can the embattled 2020 draft class prove their worth to the team in yr 3? How long should we give the 2022 draft picks to prove themselves?

2020 was not a good draft but we did get Becton and Hall. Mims played better with Darnold as qb but still did not show himself worthy of a 2nd round pick.

2021 depends on Wilson's second year. If Wilson elevates his game then it will have been a good draft.

2022 better be good. Picking Wilson in the first round is a testament to Mims and Moore disappointing. hmmm Jermaine Johnson is listed as a lb pro-football-reference (while nfl.com has him listed as a DE). His vitals say that he's 260 lbs which would make him more of a tweener...or 3-4 OLB. newyokjets.com has him listed as a DE. It would make a lot of sense if he could drop weight and play LB...but that remains to be seen.

After watching the video (which was pretty good), I have to say that Becton will not be written off by the team. What might end up happening is that he gets moved to RT. But he'll have a starting spot on the roster. And if gets moved to RT, he'll make All-Pro sooner or later.

How man years should you give a player to prove himself? There's not fixed answer to that question. The team has needs in the off-season and at draft-time. And the most glaring needs are addressed first. So it depends on how glaring the weakness is. Take for instance Mims. He needs to show himself to be better than Walker. He is also competing against Davis who was picked right before Jamal Adams. If all these guys suck, there will be a WR pick early in the 2023 draft.
