Adam Gase has a concept or play book that for whatever reason is neither not understood by this team or doesn't fit the personnel. Game play calling seems to be repetitive, but the decision on roster personnel from the beginning of game week to the actual game day has also been horrendous. If players are getting hurt then the strength and conditioning has to change to what is going on in the league.

So after another blatant disregard of execution from all phases of this team game, the Jets head coach made statements post game, obviously he will never take blame. He uses the word "we" but he really means the players. He states they knew what they were going to do, so what then we weren't good enough to stop them. It looked more so like they were out of position, but if they knew then the only other answer is the players let it happen, because they already have turned against the head coach, just like the fans.

"Obviously, we did not play the game that we needed to play," the Jets head coach said following the Green & White's 31-13 home-opening loss to the 49ers on Sunday. "We needed to eliminate all the explosive plays on defense. We didn't do that. We had to do a good job of moving the ball, staying third-and-manageable. We actually did that in the first half on offense, but we didn't score when we got our chance in the red zone.

"We didn't do enough as a team to really do anything against these guys. I mean, when you play a good team, even with the guys they had down, we've got to find a way to be more consistent and play complementary football at some point."

"I'm pissed right now," he said. "We need to get better fast."

"That was the whole thing all week... We knew they were going to get some explosive plays, but you want to try to limit those and keep them in that 15-yard range," Gase said. "They outran us. They've got a lot of team speed, we know it. They handled our run force in that situation and we didn't take good enough angles. When we watch the tape, we'll get more detailed as far as what actually happened, but just from watching it on the field, we didn't have great angles on a guy that's really fast."

He said the offense engaged in a similar skull session during the week of preparation regarding "starting off the game a certain way" in moving the ball between the 20s, then "making sure when we got in the red zone, we took advantage of that opportunity."

The defense were appalling. We knew they can't stop a QB who runs and now we know they can't stop a QB who can't run. When that 3rd and 31 came up with the backup QB in I was smelling a comeback, but the defense put paid to that in a hurry.

this was a shit show from top to bottom...

defense had there moments to make plays, but after making some plays they let up... there is no killer instinct in this team led by a DC who is known for that killer instinct putting bounties on players...

for me rather keep Williams as DC but make Boyer interim, structure & discipline... Brant will correct the attitude on and off the field while keeping everyone hungry and aggressive...
