I don't see the difference between what Rodgers does with his DDC, or what Watt does vs Cam doing the dab.

It's so inconsequential... I like to focus on his actions not his dancing. Overall he seems like a good dude

Why Mo? They are a well built team built in the traditional style. They play tough defense and can run on anyone. Cam's development is the x factor.

This team is the true rags to riches story. Carolina was really bad last year. Before going on a four game winning streak to end their year last season, Carolina was 3-8-1 and ended up 7-8-1. Rivera was so close to getting fired and Newton was in a car crash that almost took his life. This year, their best playmaker in Kelvin Benjamin goes down.

I think the car crash really humbled Newton and now he goes out there trying to have as much fun and enjoy the moment as much as possible. That's the disconnect that people have right now and don't like Newton. He's having fun but people see it as him mocking the other team.

Not trying to change your opinion but those are the reasons why i like Panthers and I wouldnt oppose them winning it all.

Both the Panthers and Broncos don't bother me. Whoever wins it is well deserved. F the Cheats!

I'm not in the camp where the pathetic "he's having fun " excuse is being played out. A lot of teams that win and have star players are havin fun but don't go to the extent Cam goes to. Rogers ,Brady, Rivers, Eli! I could go on and on are all fiery fierce competitors , why do we need to accept actions , on the field that go over the top for even just a first down?

Don't like the Salsa dance, OBJ antics, all wide recievers after every 1st down, etc., etc. Cam is over the top .Its a new league , don't like it. Agree with Richard Dents comments X 10
"Act like this is what you're getting paid to do," Dent told the reporter. "But these kids, that's what you get in the Twitter, Facebook world. It's 'Look at me!'"

Maybe it's being old school , a generation thing? IDK
But it's not my style.
A few years back they made it a penalty for removing your helmet. That move was for the camera, media , and fans to look at me I made that play.

I really don't get how a lot of his on field play isn't " taunting "
I'm also not sold that giving the ball to kids in the stands isn't staged.
A lot of kids go to games across the league yet Cam is the only one who cares for them?

That's why, just my opinion , maybe I'm an old fart

Well, to be fair; I am so sure my dad thought Namath was a complete jerk also. In hindsight he was probably right. Just gettin' old I guess?

A lot of people hate Cam because of the antics. Doesn't bother me because I see it as pure celebration

Dude is playing a game, not curing cancer. If he wants to dance while running an oblong shaped ball made from pigskin past a yellow line.... So be it.

The whole game is about entertainment. Yet football has this weird set of rules governing exactly how much you can celebrate.

It is dumb how people attach some sort of "code" to it that's similar to some military tradition. Newsflash... One is life and death, one is a kids game played by adults.

Might as well ban the Lambeau leap as well..... What's the difference? That's staged too

There should be NO penalty for excessive celebration as long as BS like the Lambeau leap was officially exempted from the rule as "grandfathered in"

Decker started his own version of the MetLife Leap. I like it!

Exactly.

It just seems super disingenuous to ignore the same sort of celebrating that is done by guys like Watt or Rodgers and be critical of Newton.

Do I think some of the celebrating is stupid... Yep most definitely. I laugh when guys make a tackle on 1st and 10 after an 8 yard gain and act like they just stopped a 4th and goal. However, I haven't seen much dancing from Newton when the Panthers were down 20 puts (hasn't happened).

Isn't the game supposed to be fun? Why are these rules really in place?

Why is Santonio Holmes doing his ball drop thingee after a 1st down OK but a throat slash is 15 yards?

It's all arbitrary

I prefer calling it "The JetLife Leap",Elias

The Giants have their own very "clazzy" "Beckham Gangbagger" celebration and hurdles competition

Since we are talking about stadiums, I wish MetLife had been the naming sponsor of the new Mets park, instead of Citi.

For that matter, I wish JetBlue had been the naming sponsor of the new Jets/Giants stadium.

It has military codes because it is a game based on army tactics originally. Also, for generations, veterans were apart of the game, and valued things like honor and respect.

Old school guys like me (I'm 31) view behavior as acting respectful to the Game and your peers. It's about not shining the spotlight on yourself in a team sport. It's a mentality that today's players know almost nothing about.

I've accepted that we have passed that era, Barry sanders used to be rare for acting like he's been there before in the end zone, and that was 20 years ago.

Now I'm just happy that it's illegal to taunt the opponent.

But honestly, it's dumb as hell when these idiots celebrate anything when they're down 20-0. Your team is playing like shit, what the hell are you celebrating?

Apparently didnt make all that sense to Jetblue which didnt come across with the shekels for either place

Plus Im certain our co owners would have vetoed any offer with Jet in it as we would have if Green Giant was the proposed sponsor

That fine I get your viewpoint. I just don't take it that seriously.

I could almost buy the 'ban celebration' idea because at least then there wouldn't be a double standard depending on who you are in the league and what color your skin is.
