FLORHAM PARK — Every now and again, Ryan Fitzpatrick shows he does have a more than capable arm.
In Saturday's training camp practice, the Jets' quarterback connected on a 53-yard touchdown to Eric Decker. The receiver ran a streak, and Fitzpatrick heaved one long to hit him perfectly in stride. The ball traveled 52 of the 53 yards in the air.
"I think it surprised Deck that his noodle-armed quarterback threw it that far," Fitzpatrick joked after practice.
Fitzpatrick threw several solid balls on Saturday. He hit Brandon Marshall and Quincy Enunwa for back-to-back scores in the red zone to end the practice. He also ran for a touchdown, and capped it by diving into the end zone.
