FOXSports senior NFL reporter Alex Marvez said he believes Dan Quinn will ultimately be hired as the Jets head coach, according to people he’s spoken to.

Quinn, currently the Seahawks defensive coordinator, is one of the six men confirmed to have interviewed for the Jets coaching vacancy.

Marvez appeared on the Dan Patrick Show on Thursday and said Quinn has already started reaching out to assistants on other teams for coaching opportunities with the Jets (DP Show, Jan. 8).

“Under league rules, Quinn cannot accept an offer — or receive one — until after the Seahawks’ season, which means that prospective employers, like the Jets, could be waiting until after the Super Bowl,” according to the New York Times (Jan. 8).

Quinn, 44, has been the defensive coordinator for the Seahawks since 2013. From 2007 to 2008, Quinn was the defensive line coach for the Jets.

Mccagnon i really don't know much about, but just the fact that Mehta is already stating to rip him makes me think it's a good hire.

Quinn is who I have wanted since the beginning. it is being reported that he has already reached out to Kyle Shanahan as OC. If true, it indicates that Quinn has a hand shake agreement with some one.

Hope it's the Jets

I'm hearing that the Jets new Offensive Coordinator will be Larry David, out of University of Maryland. David has been extremely successful as the creator and producer of television megahits such as "Seinfeld" and "Curb Your Enthusiasm."

I'm thinking I may need to change my name to "Little Jerry Seinfeld".

David expressed his interest in the job in an interview with Michael Kay. Anyone with the link?

Could Dan Quinn-Kyle Shanahan coaching package work for Jets?

As the Jets continue to search for a capable head coach and general manager, many names have been included in the process. For owner Woody Johnson, hiring the best candidate should supersede the need to finally bring in an offensive mind as the leader of the franchise.

If the best candidate truly is Seattle Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, a bright offensive mind would be needed to flank him as a coordinator and move the Jets offense to the top of the league.

While most fans have been clamoring for an offensive coach to be the head man, could a pairing of Quinn and former Redskins and Browns offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan be coaching package that works?

According to to Mary Kay Kabot of Northeast Ohio Media Group, the notion of Quinn bringing Shanahan aboard as his offensive coordinator is a possibility.

Despite up-and-down results as an offensive coordinator in the NFL, Shanahan has the pedigree—his dad is two-time Super Bowl head coach Mike Shanahan—and has shown the ability to mesh a scheme to the players and style of the roster handed to him.

In 2012, Shanahan's offense got the most out of Robert Griffin III in Washington. In 2014, the Browns offense managed to do enough to win seven games early in the season despite the limitations of quarterback Brian Hoyer.

I'm pretty sure it was intended as a joke. David is a Jets fan.

I'll find the story in a few minutes

'Seinfeld' co-creator Larry David ready to be NY Jets offensive and defensive coordinator

'I think just with a little studying, I think I could be a tremendous offensive coordinator,' David said on SiriusXM’s 'The Howard Stern Show.' 'And defensive coordinator. Yes, I see many things that I know I could fix.'

Larry David thinks he can go from writing about nothing to helping Gang Green.
The Jets' next head coach need not worry about hiring any coordinators, because he’s got one big name ready and willing to take on the job. Comedian Larry David says he should be Gang Green’s next play caller.

“I think just with a little studying, I think I could be a tremendous offensive coordinator,” David said on SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show. “And defensive coordinator. Yes, I see many things that I know I could fix.”

Some might think David might be able to insert a little humor into the stiff football world, but then again, the Jets’ offense is already pretty funny.

The “Seinfeld” co-creator and “Curb Your Enthusiasm” creator/star described himself as an “average football fan” but a big supporter of Gang Green. And not only would he bring his Jets fandom to the job, but he also has boatloads of experience in the field.

“When I was a kid and we used to play football in the parking lot, I would design very good plays,” David said.

“Why couldn’t I do that? Other people do it, why not me?” he added.

Though David was broadcasting his coordinator candidacy over the radio waves, perhaps he ought to have been phoning up Charley Casserly and Ron Wolf looking for the big job.

“By the way, as long as I'm doing offense and defense I think I could be a head coach,” he said.

Actually he is tied to Marrone and Kubiack. That is why the Quinn rumors are curious.

Yeah the media is making it sound like his bags are packed. Out hiring his staff. He's got 5 teams talking to him. I wonder what makes the media think he's coming to the Jets?

I think it might be Mcc & Marrone

I looked at his football resume, very impressive. I'll take him! Don't know much about him but look at what he has done with Seattle's defense that was built pretty much through the draft. I love the fact he is in his early or mid 40's. He can be the HC for 20 plus years if he is successful and wants to coach that long.
