Couple of brief observations

1) Kony Ealy was a brilliant waiver claim. Obviously had some kind of personal issues with Belichick, but the kid is young and he can play.

2) Elijah McGuire was a Great 6th RD Pick. Thats what hitting a Homerun looks like in the 6th RD

3) I don't care if we won the last two games, we're a rebuilding team and a 37 or 38 Y.O. QB is absurd. Petty should be the starting QB

4) Its a shame Enunwa got hurt, I think he and Anderson could have really complimented each other and had breakout seasons as a duo.

5) Darron Lee was never a good scheme pick and I said so when we picked him. He's a 4-3 OLB, and it looks like we blew the 2nd RD Pick (Hack) in that draft too. 3rd RD was Jordan Jenkins, another average player at best. This years draft is already looking WAY BETTER than last years, and that was vital, two bad drafts in a row is a recipe for disaster.

6) Forte used to be a TOP 10 Back, maybe TOP 5, but he's older and should be #3 on this team behind Powell and McGuire.

7) Because it can't be said enough, starting McGown is idiotic, we're a rebuilding team, we should be finding out what we have in Petty. Forget Hack, he stinks, but Petty has some upside and we ought to be finding out what his ceiling is?

Ham. Great to read your posts again. All are valid points.

I'd be more excited if McCown was benched and Hack/Petty were winning but they clearly are not ready. The coaching staff have both ample time to win the job and they couldn't do it.

There's no way we'd be 2-2 right now without the good play of McCown, so I disagree. Bottom line is this team is actually better than most thought, so I agree with Toilet, the best players should play. McCown beat out Petty in the preseason and therefore he should start.

However, I agree with everything else. Would like to include Bass as well. He looks like another good addition. Adams will probably end up being DROY and a possible pro bowler. I LOVE Ardarius Stewarts hands. This guy has true ability. Who cares about having a big name like Amari Cooper when the guy has dropped seven passes this season.

Agreed, this kid is gonna be good for a long time, reminds me of Anquan Boldin, similar traits, but obviously has a long way to go to have a career like Boldin, but definitely I'm impressed. I look forward to Anderson, Enunwa and Stewart being our TOP 3 as early as next year.

Expect when Cadet (kick returner/RB) gets more reps in practice we will see Stewart be more apart of the offensive game plan...

McCown is the obvious need to help the development of our young offensive core, while allowing us to be productive...

I hope Enunwa is able to overcome this injury as it is one that is career threatening... If Q. comes back, especially he is a free agent after this season then we could have a dominating quadruple threat at receiver with Robby Anderson, ArDarius Stewart and Chad Hansen that will allow any signal caller to be effective under center albeit be Petty, Hack or a ?

The NFL is a pretty mediocre league right now and the Jets have benefitted from playing terrible teams. They get another one next week. They have completely changed the locker room and sometimes that is even more important than having the most talent.

I always thought this team (this year) was building in the right direction, FINALLY!!! Only heartache was the McCown signing and even worse, starting that old bastard. Either Petty or Hack should be playing but only if they deserve it and obviously they do not. Sad to say but if you can't beat McCown out then you ain't the guy and have no chance of being it.

Well, I don't know about not ever having a chance of being it? McCown WON the QB competition. No argument here. Petty and hack LOST.

However, this isn't to say that as the season wears on, Petty cannot become the best guy for the job? He's still young and he needs to continue to work at it. Who knows? Maybe, at some point, McCown gets injured and Petty is forced to start? If that happens, Petty will need to realize that's chance knocking on his door. He'll need to make the most of his opportunity because he won't get many more to prove himself..........

Bottom line with this team is that the culture seems to have changed for the better, and fortunately or not McCown is part of that. The guy clearly is not the answer at QB, but he is the best we have right now. BTW - I'm loving the job Morton is doing with play-calling and the limited resources (see McCown) that he has available to him. Also Mike M deserves a big shout-out for some of the waiver wire and trades he has has pulled off. Ealy, Bass, Kerley, Brooks and Kearse all have produced nicely for little or no cost. Also have an additional #2 pick in next year's draft. It's way early, but the last two weeks is what I wanted to see from the team this year. Young, hungry and together.

Austin Sefarian-Jenkins has been great too. His offseason program to lose weight has worked wonders.

The coaching staff has the team believing. Before you hand the ball to Petty or Hack you need to show the team success is possible. I think the coaching staff has done an excellent job under the circumstances.
