And without idzik being stingy with the cash we don't have all this cap space to spend on free agents. Much of the success for this year's off season is bc of idzik. Next year, we'll see what Mac can do.
He has less cash and most likely a worst draft pick.
Having said all that, if Idzik was still the GM, I would have no confidence in him to lead us forward.
That's one way to look at it...another one would be Idzik could have signed Revis last year to the same bread and Cromarties for 1.3rd the bread.
Idzik also had a chance to draft a 22 year old Marshall instead of us trading for a 33 year old one, and he could have locked up Mo so we wouldnt be in this situation.
Yes, the lack of moves led to Mac/Bowles...but getting excited about all of these players we added because of his incompetence I guess I look at the other way, we had all this money last year and could have virtually had this offseason a year earlier which would have helped our young players develop better with better support around them rather than dropping all the weight on the young players shoulders when they should have had better teammates to shoulder some of the weight...it also may have prevented the Pats from winning the SB if revis was a Jet 1 year earlier. But we'll never know and even the newest sb is tainted.
In the end, its just another black mark in jets history along with the infinite others.
