If the price is right and a younger option cannot be signed first. I'd prefer Maxwell CB Seattle. I know most would like Jackson CB Texans over Cro too (I think I like Cro more than Jackson).

Nevertheless, whether we sign Cro, Maxwell, Jackson, or Revis, the guy I want in this draft is Rollins CB Miami of Ohio...not at #6 , but I trade up from #38 to #22- #25ish and grab Rollins. I think he has a lot of talent, can start as a nickel as a rookie and eventually be our #1 . I think that kid can be special.

The reason I want cro is because he knows the defense and he can shorten the learning curve.

I predict Cromartie will be coming back. It's all lining up that way. He's 31 in April, he's coming off a good year, he knows Bowles, he knows the Jets players, and he won't ask for the world salary-wise.

Bring him back, and sign one more corner just in case Milliner can't stay on the field.

I had no problem with the Jets letting Cro walk after last year. A guy who has made a career with his legs was coming off a leg injury and reaching 30. My problem was with how nothing was done to replace him.

That said, he surprised me with last year. Can he do it again? Maybe. I'm not sold. The price would have to be absolutely right, and the market would have to be a bit emptied by then.

I would not touch him if either Jackson or Maxwell is available.

If Bowles and Macc want him, he will definitely be a Jet. He still owns a house here, he's kids go to school here. He wants to be here. I don't think that it's an either or situation with another CB. Right now the Jets need two. Milliner off an Achilles most likely won't be 100% . If he ever will be. McDougle? Who knows. Guy was a 3rd round pick with a 5th round grade.

Free Agent-To-Be Cromartie Continues To Lobby For A Return To The Jets

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — He sure sounds like he wants to come back.

Antonio Cromartie is set to be an unrestricted free agent this offseason, meaning he can go anywhere he wants. The thing is, though, the veteran cornerback appears to be hung up on his former team, the Jets. And even his current teammates can see it.

“My house is there, so it’s attractive. But if that doesn’t happen, it doesn’t happen,” Cromartie told the New York Post. “At the end of the day, I got to make sure that my options are open and making sure that whatever decision I make, that it’s related to my family and making sure we’re making the right decision not only for me but also for them. It not only affects me, it affects them also with changing schools and for my kids and everything.”

All of that sounds reasonable, of course, but the Cardinals’ Patrick Peterson said Cromartie’s love affair with the Jets seems to run even deeper. And with his former defensive coordinator in Arizona, Todd Bowles, now the Jets’ head coach, it only seems logical for Cromartie to want to go back to what is familiar.

“I’m definitely trying to keep him here,” Peterson told ESPN. “It’s going to be tough, especially with Todd being in New York, and he loves (New York). That’s all he talks about is freaking New York. I’m definitely trying to get him to stay and we’ll see what happens.”

Cromartie struggled through a hip injury during his final year in New York, but was excellent this past season after signing a one-year deal with the Cardinals. He recorded 49 tackles, three interceptions and 10 passes defensed in making the Pro Bowl for the fourth time.

During his four years with the Jets, playing opposite Darrelle Revis for three of those years, Cromartie had 13 interceptions and 51 passes defensed.

If a Cromartie-Jets reunion doesn’t happen, odds are the market will still be strong for the 30-year-old defensive back, who, as usual, is confident in his abilities.

“Everybody else knows what I can do when I’m healthy,” Cromartie said. “That’s what it’s really all about. I think it was just the point of getting back healthy and going back out and playing at a high level. That’s something that I figure I did this season. Not worried about anything else but that.”

The Jets figure to be at least interested in Cromartie, considering their secondary was an utter disaster in 2014 and was one of the many reasons why John Idzik was relieved of his duties as general manager.

New York figures to be more than $40 million under the cap, and will likely be looking to upgrade its secondary. The Jets started last season hopeful that second-year player Dee Millner and rookie Dexter McDougle would grow into a reliable tandem at corner, but both suffered season-ending injuries early.

The Jets ended up going by committee at the position, though rookie Marcus Williams impressed as the season wore on.

I am in the camp that if Bowles wants him bring him in. I do not believe Cro will hold us up for a crazy contract.

He still has the house in Randolph, not too far from Florham Park, so I'm guessing if there is any interest, he will be here. Could the Jets land him AND one of the others?

I'm guessing they will. Milliner has shown a lot of promise, but he needs a full, healthy year before anyone knows for sure. The money is there. If you can get Cro and someone like Jackson, Maxwell, or anyone in that range, you've solved your CB issue.

Bowles has mentioned his desire for good CB's. I believe the Jets will be active at this position in FA.

Yeah he made it be known he wants to come back here...the right price I'd do it even though I usually against signing anyone over 27

Agree

To a serious long term contract at least. Don't think he'll be breaking the bank, and doubt he'll get much guaranteed

I'd take him on a 3 year, 1st year gauranteed somewhat. Great teammate, knows the players, knows the system, better than anyone on the team since he left, team player big plus. He had no ego and groomed the young guys. And you can still afford a flowers type.

Why not sing Cro, Maxwell and move cro t FS... Maxwell and Millner would be a nice tandem. Also if Millner gets hurt again move Cro back to CB...

Cro is a poor tackler, which makes him a poor S. Why would you want to move him when right now he would be our best CB?

His agent must be kicking him. Who has LEVERAGE now... I would take him back on a 2 year deal. 1 guaranteed

Not much downside to signing him other than his age and well known (to us Jets fans anyway) aversion to tackling. Would prefer him to Revis in all honesty. And agree with those who want Maxwell as well. Moneywise, we could get both of them and still have money left over instead of just signing Mevis.

To me, Revis is tainted. Just being there, and then winning a ring there, makes me not want him. And that's not even factoring in age and potential future knee difficulties.

He's kind of like the girl who got with your best friend, so you broke up with her, and now she wants you back because her prospects for other guys aren't looking good.

Besides, if you think he was moneygrubbing before, now that he has a ring, he'll be insufferable.
