I see Nate Orchard was released by the Browns.

Orchard was a 2nd RD Pick in 2015 who was IR'd in 2016 and hasn't done much, but IMO he was miscast as a 4-3 DE.

Like Fowler, this is a player who was a bad scheme fit for the Browns, should have been drafted as a RUSH OLB for a 3-4 team.

He's still only 25 and might be a guy the Jets claim on waivers.

Another guy the Jets might claim is K Dan Bailey, or they might just stick with Myers who has a cannon but has been a little erratic on FG's and PAT's.

Another former 2nd RD Pick in 2015 and a genuine sack artist in college, but he's already had three ACL's, two in college and one in the pros.

That said, still only 26 and might be worth a shot if he's healthy now?

I am just not sold on Copeland, think he has potential but we need players with experience to add to what we have... Copeland should be able to slip through waivers on to the practice squad... Nate Orchard would be a good role situational player behind Jordan Jenkins... Attaochu has potential but still is developmental that flashes, signing a veteran like Simon whom played in Houston when Maccagnan was Director of Scouting and with our newest defensive lineman Henry Anderson in Indianapolis makes too much sense not to target him as a free agent signing... Low cost high reward type signing if they do indeed get him...

I named three edge rushers who were cut in this thread, guys the Jets might consider signing; Attaochu, Orchard and Kikaha, all 25 or 26, either derailed by injuries or bad scheme fits with their former teams as 4-3 DE's. These guys should never be anything but 3-4 RUSH OLB's.

Well today they signed Attaochu and Orchard is rumored to we working out for the team today or tomorrow.

Not surprised they passed on Kikaha because he's had THREE ACL's, two in college and another one in the pros, so he's damaged goods.
