I don't think anyone here really gives a flying rat's rectum about anything pertaining to the Cowboys, other than relish in their turmoil. If you root for them and don't live in Dallas, you are most likely a front runner who will dive headlong off their bandwagon once they become a consistent loser.
For some unknown reason, the networks have been promoting them as "America's team" the way Ted Turner tried to force the Braves down everyone's throat. As I've posted before, the greatest moment in football every week (when it doesn't have anything to do with the Jets) is watching the expression on Jerry Jones' face when his team loses.

You understand that these guys have a limited career and they need to make money while they can, but there comes a time where you are being offered so much that quibbling over a little more makes no sense. At that point you can pretend to be a team player rather than risking losing it all. Also the sensible QBs recognise that it is better for their health to leave some money to pay their supporting cast.
absolutely agree. After a certain number of millions, do you really need any more?
Added to this, Prescott is not a generational talent like Marino or Peyton. He has fallen on his feet in an organisation that has surrounded him with stars; how would he have done behind the Jets' O-line giving the ball to our skill players? And the Cowboys have signed Dalton. Prescott's agent must be a muppet to not advise him to take the money and run laughing like a thief into the night.
Beresford - You make a good point, however I was listening last weekend to NFL network and I forget who said it but they made a point worth considering in this argument. They said that you have to take into consideration the Cowboy brand (ok, don't vomit) and the amount of money that franchise is worth and how important the QB position is for them. Logically, he continued, Prescott should be paid more than say a Bengal QB. I don't necessarily agree, but clearly something to consider.

Even though the Cowboys are by far the top grossing franchise in the league, they are bound to the same hard cap as the Bengals. Over paying any player, QB or otherwise limits your ability to support him with a quality team. That's why so many teams push to win while they have their QB on his rookie deal.
